This job is for an Accountant focused on tax and compliance. You will handle tax filings, navigate e-invoicing, and collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
- Prepare and file corporate income tax returns according to local requirements.
- Manage monthly and quarterly filings for Singapore GST and Malaysia SST.
- Ensure correct classification of taxable supplies and input tax claims.
- Monitor regulatory updates and implement changes promptly.
- Support the rollout and compliance of Malaysia’s e-Invoicing under LHDN guidelines.
- Coordinate with IT and ERP teams to ensure system readiness and data integrity.
- Validate e-Invoice formats, transmission protocols, and audit trails.
- Liaise with vendors and internal teams for smooth adoption and compliance.
SOP Development & Documentation
- Draft SOPs for tax filing, indirect tax workflows, and e-Invoicing processes.
- Submit SOPs for review and approval by the Finance Manager.
- Maintain updated documentation aligned with statutory and operational requirements.
- Record tax-related journal entries and reconcile tax accounts.
- Prepare tax schedules and working papers for audits.
- Support tax provisioning and deferred tax calculations for financial reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with finance, procurement, and legal teams to ensure tax compliance.
- Work with external tax advisors and auditors for filings and reviews.
- Guide internal stakeholders on tax treatment and documentation.
General Finance Support
- Assist with tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.
- Help with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Contribute to process improvements in finance operations.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
- 3–5 years of experience in tax compliance, ideally in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Knowledge of Singapore GST, Malaysia SST, and Malaysia e-Invoicing regulations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, SunSystems, Odoo) and tax reporting tools.
- Experience in hospitality, maritime, or multinational environments is a plus.
- Attention to detail and regulatory awareness.

The candidate supports the APAC region focusing mainly on SAA market (Singapore, Australia, Malaysia) with keeping their entities compliant with local tax law, ensures that tax policies and processes are followed, identifies tax risks (and opportunities) and monitors changes in tax laws. The Senior Tax Specialist APAC works closely with the Regional Finance team and the Group Tax team.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitors and supports with CIT, indirect tax, WHT, TP and other (local) tax compliance and reporting obligations in the region
- Supports with the tax aspects of the implementation of a new ERP system
- Supports with quarterly tax provisioning process and annual return-to-provision calculation
- Supports with estimating the tax payments in the cash flow forecast
- Ensures that tax policies are followed, and standard tax procedures are implemented
- Identifies tax risks (and opportunities), and supports with mitigating these risks
- Manages tax aspects of M&A and internal reorganizations
- Supports with tax audits or enquiries from local tax authorities
- Monitors changes in laws and regulations, and ensures that relevant changes are applied properly
- Master or Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Tax
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 3 years of experience in tax advisory or compliance

As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you will be part of Kerry’s growing indirect tax team, ensuring compliance with VAT, GST, and sales tax regulations across multiple regions. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will work with Kerry’s primary ERP system (SAP) and other reporting tools, collaborating across business functions to enhance compliance, efficiency, and process improvements. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to Kerry’s strategic growth by optimizing tax processes within a dynamic, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare periodic indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT/GST/Sales Tax).
- Reconcile GST/VAT/sales tax general ledger accounts and address discrepancies.
- Maintain turnover reconciliations, comparing financial statements with tax filings.
- Organize and process GST/VAT/sales tax payments and submissions.
- Prepare monthly indirect tax debtor reports aligned with reconciliations.
- Support the standardization and documentation of indirect tax processes for Europe.
- Contribute to audit preparation, process improvements, and system upgrades (e.g., new SAP deployments, acquisitions/disposals).
- Assign appropriate GST/VAT/sales tax rates to materials/products in master data workflow.
- Review new customer and vendor setups for tax accuracy.
- Handle AP workflows and resolve transactional tax-related queries.
- Work towards automating and streamlining indirect tax processes.
- Stay updated on tax legislation and assist in system modifications to maintain compliance.
- Periodically rotate across different country portfolios to enhance agility and expertise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system and process issues.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of indirect tax experience, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
- Strong knowledge of GST/VAT/sales tax regulations and compliance.
