Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including corporate, real property tax, CGT, indirect (SST/GST), and international tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage relationships with high-profile clients, serving as the primary contact on complex tax compliance matters and ensuring high client satisfaction.
- Develop and implement tax compliance strategies aligned with PKF Malaysia’s business objectives and global standards.
- Direct the preparation and review of tax returns, payments, and extensions to minimize risks and penalties.
- Represent PKF Malaysia in engagements with tax authorities, handling tax audits, disputes, and negotiations.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm’s tax compliance services and revenue streams.
- Establish and enforce tax compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Drive process improvements and digital transformation initiatives to optimize tax reporting and compliance workflows.
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and KPIs for the tax compliance division.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or related field; CTA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Preferably possess 8-10 years of tax compliance experience, including leadership roles in professional services firm.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu, ability to read and write Chinese preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia tax laws, international tax principles, and transfer pricing.
- Proficiency in tax research tools (e.g., CCH, RIA, Bloomberg Tax).
- Excellent decision-making, people management and project management abilities, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
