We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Consultant to provide expert tax advice, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and support the organization or clients in effective tax planning. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Malaysian tax laws and experience in preparing tax returns, handling tax audits, and liaising with tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting in the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, companies, and partnerships.
- Conducting tax research and analysis to provide accurate and strategic advice on tax-related matters.
- Preparing and submitting routine tax compliance documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities to help clients minimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
- Keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and communicating relevant updates to clients and team members.
- Liaising with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) both in writing and verbally to resolve tax matters efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTIM) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in tax consultancy, audit, or corporate tax.
- Skills in MFRS and MPERS and is able to apply these different standards.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and IRB procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, SQL, QBO) is preferred.
