About the role
This full-time position is located in Kuching, Sarawak and will play a key role in supporting our clients with their taxation needs. As a Tax Assistant, you will be responsible for a range of duties that directly contribute to the success of our growing tax advisory firm.
What you'll be doing
Assisting with the preparation and filing of corporate and individual tax returns
Conducting research to ensure compliance with the latest tax laws and regulations
Providing administrative support to the tax consultants, including document management and client communication
Participating in tax planning and advisory engagements to help clients minimise their tax liabilities
Continuously updating your knowledge of taxation policies and best practices
To monitor and liaise with Inland Revenue Board and clients on tax related issues.
What we're looking for
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
At least 1-2 years of experience in a tax preparation or tax advisory role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients
Proficiency in using tax preparation software, accounting sofware and Microsoft Office suite
A keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest tax regulations and legislation

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key liaison for tax audits and other matters with external auditors, tax authorities, and internal departments.
Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in and lead various ad-hoc projects and assignments related to tax matters in Malaysia and other jurisdictions.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in tax-related processes and provide internal tax advisory support to the business.
Key Requirements:
Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant tax experience is required.
