Role Purpose(s)

Support the Technology Risk Management and Architecture Office functions by maintaining governance documentation, conducting technology risk assessments, and assisting with technology evaluation processes. This role serves as a bridge between technical teams and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture principles while supporting technology decision-making processes across the organization.

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain and update Technology Risk Management principles, policies, and documentation to ensure current and accurate governance standards
• Conduct technology risk assessments for project and product teams, providing compliance guidance and recommendations
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of architecture standards, governance documents, and best practice guidelines
• Support technology evaluation processes by analysing solutions against enterprise architecture principles and providing endorsement recommendations
• Prepare comprehensive reports on compliance status, risk assessments, and improvement opportunities for management review
• Assist with the Architecture Office Endorsement process by reviewing technical proposals and conducting compliance assessments
• Maintain documentation standards, templates, and governance artifacts to ensure consistency across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technology decisions align with enterprise architecture and risk management frameworks

Education Requirements

• Experience with technology assessment, documentation, or analysis roles is beneficial but not mandatory

About the Role

As the Software Engineer, you will play an important role in designing, building, and improving software solutions that support our clients and business needs.

• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience across the full application stack with some of the following languages/frameworks:

>>Desktop Development - .NET

>>Python

>>Mobile – Flutter or React Native

• Prior experience with GIS technologies is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and use knowledge effectively.
• Able to work with minimum supervision, as well as able to contribute to team development
• You must have a positive and enthusiastic outlook with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Job Description

The Software Engineer will work as a part of the application services team and closely with Keypath’s product management and enterprise architecture teams to support and implement high-quality application and software solutions.

This role is key in driving efficiencies for Keypath’s operational teams and optimizing the student experience.

The software engineer will provide development, integration, and maintenance of software applications in a Microsoft-centric environment.

This role is pivotal in supporting and customizing core systems, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality custom software solutions that align with the strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Complete development tasks related to assigned projects involving the customization, integration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other core systems.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software, customizations, and integrations.
• Provide hands on development and technical expertise across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements hand-off to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with Keypath’s product management team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Work closely with Keypath’s enterprise architecture team to ensure adherence to architectural standards and security best practices.
• Develop solutions using modern Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure Functions, SQL Databases, Queues, and Log Analytics
• Implement standard security structures and engineering best practices in Azure, including use of Key Vaults, Managed Identity, secure network endpoints, and role-based access controls.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper technical and privacy/security governance requirements are met.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Qualifications

Education:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, computer engineering, IT, a related field of study, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 4+ years of software development experience with a proven history of launching successful custom development solutions.
• Strong background in architecture, design, and hands-on coding and configuration using Microsoft technologies, including Azure, SQL, .NET framework and C#.
• Experience developing solutions using third-party Software Development Kits and cloud-based APIs.
• Experience developing solutions and integrating with Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred.
• Experience in the higher education and post-secondary education sector preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Solid understanding of the SDLC using Agile Methodologies
• Proficient in Microsoft-centric development and skilled working with Microsoft SDLC management tools and technologies including Visual Studio, Azure DevOps and Git
• Knowledge of design patterns and development experience with .NET framework, Microsoft Azure, and related tools
• Skilled in hands-on coding and configuration using Microsoft technologies, including Azure, SQL, .NET framework and C#.
• Solid database development experience with SQL Server including T-SQL, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.
• Competent in Web development technologies – Web Services, JSON, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, React and other commonly used JavaScript libraries and frameworks.
• Must exhibit fluency in software development concepts including Software Design Patterns, Caching, Concurrency, Security, and Relational Databases.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to maintaining high security and architectural standards.
• Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities, capable of learning new technologies quickly.
• Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Architecture, Dynamics CRM API, and Entity Model preferred.
