Job Description
The Electropolishing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and overseeing electropolishing processes to ensure high-quality surface finishes on metal components, primarily stainless steel and other alloys. This role ensures compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and optimize electropolishing processes and parameters for new and existing products. Monitor and control process variables (e.g., current density, temperature, electrolyte concentration) to maintain consistent surface quality. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for process deviations and quality issues. Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure surface finish requirements are met. Select and maintain electropolishing equipment, including tanks, power supplies, and filtration systems. Ensure all electropolishing operations comply with internal specifications and external industry standards (e.g., ASTM, SEMI). Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process validation reports. Lead trials and testing for new materials, parts, and process improvements. Train operators and technicians on electropolishing procedures and safety practices. Support audits and customer visits with technical explanations and documentation. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in surface treatment or metal finishing, ideally with electropolishing experience. Strong knowledge of electrochemical principles and electropolishing systems. Familiar with stainless steel, titanium, and specialty alloy finishing. Experience with process control systems, lab testing (e.g., surface roughness, corrosion resistance), and safety protocols for chemical handling. Proficient in MS Office and able to work with technical documentation and CAD/drawings. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Job Description
Minimum experience at least 1-3 years in related field
Background in aerospace is highly desirable, unless the candidate can show other relevant experience and an ability and eagerness to learn fast
Possess a bachelor’s degree in aerospace/chemical/industrial engineering or other similar fields
Familiarity with aerospace standards, such as NADCAP and AS9100
Good knowledge of metallic surface treatment processing, paint and NDT processes
Experience in generating the route of process planning for production
Tasks & responsibilities
Responsible for developing and maintaining the configuration management plan. Responsible for defining, implementing, managing version control and processes. Responsible for communicating and controlling release plans for first article and production.
Responsible for conducting Configuration Reviews to include but not limited to requirements, problem reports, defects and non-conformance reports. Collaborate with the BD, Program, Quality and Production team in support of multiple, concurrent configuration baselines in line with the CM Plan.
Provide guidance to engineers on the Configuration Management Processes they need to follow.
Deciding on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each process stage. Ensuring plans meet the customer’s specifications and requirements. Liaise and collaborate with quality team in the inspection control plan.
Liaise with customers, BD, program and quality team on the concessions especially on the deviation gap analysis and rework. General supervising and assisting the production team on process at all stages and providing solutions to problems.
Collaborating with all teams on technical documentation such drawings, part lists, customer specifications, standards, solution matrix and test matrix.
Review any changes initiated or requested by customer to ensure review and approval process are carried out in a systematic manner prior to change implementation
Ensuring that any proposed change internally for cost down or improvement purposes is reviewed and the associated risk is assessed by Change Control Board (CCB) before acceptance and approval implementation

What You’ll Do
Ensure suppliers’ manufacturing processes are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner. Develop and audit quality control systems. Develop and drive supplier improvement plans.
Develop and execute plans for failure analysis on products returned from the field related to inorganic, organic, and particle contamination and material issues.
Coordinate development activities with suppliers and product groups in developing new products.
Conduct effective supplier visits in evaluating and managing new and existing suppliers.
Design and execute an experiment, review data, develop conclusions.
Implement industry standard process control techniques such as six sigma techniques to manage and develop production efficiencies and quality for Lam products.
Who We’re Looking For
Minimum Education: BS/MS degree in a technical field listed in (but not limited to) the following: ChE, Chemistry, Materials Science
7+ years applicable experience specific to surface treatments such as anodizing, coating, and plating, contamination control, precision cleaning, material science, and manufacturing processes and design, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
Strong project management, organizational and communication skills required.
The ability to read drawings (with understanding of ASME Y14.5) required.
Working knowledge of SPC required.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with proven history of successful resolution.
