Summary of the Role
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the operational process of logistics in accordance with the goals of the business at an economic cost. The order fulfillment objectives are achieved whilst working within the framework of contributing to society through healthcare and all Terumo Corporation social and ethical guidelines. This position’s focus is to partner with the business to ensure efficiencies and support the organization’s growth expectations.
Key Objectives
- Support the achievement annual sales targets.
- Manage and optimize supplier and sales backorders.
- Incoming shipment monitoring, timely shipping doc submission for custom clearance and delivery to distributor warehouse.
- Optimize inventory levels, consignment stock management, reduce write-offs, and align stock levels with safety policies.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PLs) and vendors to enhance efficiency.
- Implement logistics systems, proper adhere to policies, and procedures.
- Local delivery arrangement and billing to distributor.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and manage GDPMD and KPMG audits effectively.
- Manage shipment and distribution costs to align with budgetary goals.
- Execute SCM year-end procedures.
Key responsibilities
Logistics and Import Operations Management :
- Timely Supplier POs placements.
- Check item and quantity of ordering versus factory allocation.
- Tally orders sent versus receipt of purchase order and monthly final sales confirmation from supplier.
- Monitor purchase orders (POs), back order, factory’s shipping schedule and import shipping documents.
- Submission of shipping doc to forwarder for custom clearance.
- Provide product catalogue to forwarder for any dutiable items subject to custom request.
- Coordinate with RA on SIRIM permit application for ME Pump.
- Input Invoice receive (IR) and GR (Goods receive) in SAP system.
- Response to factory if any cargo discrepancy, ex: shortage / damages.
- Manage and liaise with insurance agent for defective goods claims during transit or upon goods arrival.
- Prepare delivery advice, delivery note upon goods arrived and invoice billing to customer.
- Follow up distributors signed DO & temperature indicator form if there is.
- Join weekly discussions with BUs and SCM teams on backorder status and shipment schedules.
- Feedback on service and shipping performance of logistics service provider (LSP) / Global Bid forwarders.
- Check and verify courier and freight forwarding invoices.
- Plan and advise forwarders on which container to be sent direct to distributor and 3PL warehouse for break bulks or storage.
- Check with other sales entities for stock availability to fulfil urgent demand from distributor.
- Arrange shipment and delivery of regional demo unit to TMSB office or hospital.
- Request COA from factory subject to distributors’ request.
Shipment accountability :
- Responsible for shipment tracking, communicating, and ultimately confirmation of shipment.
- Provide the incoming shipment list, and back-order recovery update to finance and BUs.
- Improvement towards accuracy and timeliness of shipment updates.
Budgeting and Cost Control :
- Summarise shipment costs and logistics expenses, aligning actuals with budgeted targets.
- Prepare shipping approval for management approval to on hold delivery or release goods if distributor over credit limit.
- Prepare cost saving initiative for logistic.
System and Data Management:
- Perform year-end SAP procedures (SCM open PO and open SO update).
- Prepare material master data registration form to TC COE team for new item registration.
Compliance and Audit Management:
- Comply to regulatory requirements for product registration and distribution.
- Ensure GDPMD compliance and KPMG audits, ensuring operational integrity
- Filling and maintenance of master doc in compliance of KPMG audit and GDPMD audit requirement.
Process Improvement and Automation:
- Participate in SCM process improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and implementing best practices.
Inventory Management and Consignment:
- Reduce inventory write-offs by implementing FIFO and FEFO.
- Biannual stock takes for 3PL warehouse.
- Monitor day-to-day inventory management activities, including receiving, storing, transferring, and issuing stock.
- Monitor and manage consignment inventory agreements such as “PAR Level”, ensuring accurate reconciliation between company and partner records.
- Coordinate stock counts and cycle counts with respective PIC to maintain high inventory accuracy in consignment.
- Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure timely usage reporting and invoicing for consignment inventory.
- Analyse inventory trends and usage data to optimize stock levels, reduce excess and obsolescence, and improve stock turnover.
- Track and investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP systems and generate regular inventory reports.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and consignment stock.
- Identify process improvement opportunities in inventory workflows and contribute to system enhancements.
- Local inventory control to meet demand without significant excess stocks.
Other Duties:
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by management.
- Participate in corporate social responsibility (CSR) events, process improvement initiatives, and team bonding activities.
Functional / Technical Skills
- Expertise in SAP/S4 systems (MM, SD, O2C).
- Familiar with Inventory management concept including consignment.
- Expertise on logistics operations (Ordering, custom clearance, inbound, outbound).
- Preferred familiarity with consignment inventory billing and contract terms.
- Strong adaptability, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other data analysis tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in business administration, supply chain, or related fields.
- Preferred experience in regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals or FMCG.)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management.

Manager, Supply Chain Management
Reports To
Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management
Role Purpose
Responsible for leading and overseeing the Supply Chain team to support operational requirements effectively and efficiently. This role involves managing departmental budgets within approved limits, justifying any significant variances with corrective action plans. The Manager ensures departmental KPIs are met, and implements timely corrective or mitigation actions in case of shortfalls. Additionally, the role ensures each function within the department is adequately resourced in terms of manpower, training, and facilities, while proactively providing alternative solutions to support continuous operational excellence.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in material and inventory management. Candidates with experience in the aviation industry are preferred.
Key Accountability
- Monitor and improve vendor performance through regular evaluation, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and alignment with contractual obligations.
- Ensure all departmental KPIs are met. For any targets not achieved, provide a corrective action plan detailing the root causes and mitigation measures.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with section heads to provide updates on Engineering & Maintenance developments, corporate goals, and initiatives, including discussions on section-specific issues and workarounds.
- Ensure departmental expenditure remains within the approved budget. In cases of significant discrepancies, collaborate with section heads to investigate causes, develop mitigation plans, and maintain budget control for the upcoming months.
- Ensure each section has an effective organization structure with adequate manpower and resources to support efficient and economical operations.
- Ensure section managers are aware of the required skills and knowledge for their teams. Conduct training needs analysis to identify development opportunities and support talent retention at all levels.
- Ensure all personnel comply with aviation airworthiness regulations, the SCM Manual, Maintenance Organization Exposition (MOE), and all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance standards, the Business Code of Conduct, the Engineering Technical Purchasing Manual, and the Corporate Approving Authority Policy (CAAP) – Section B.

Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager will be a key contact point for End-to-End process and services including, internal & External function which includesleading a warehouse team & oversee day to day in warehousing daily operations. You will review all aspects of operations in meeting on time delivery, conduct inventory management, prepare inventory reports, ensure all functions of logistics support are in line with business demands and implementation of systems and constant work improvements.
- To contribute to operations planning and recommendations for strategic plans and reviews and prepare and complete action plans
- To implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards, resolve problems and identify trends
- Analyze process workflow, resources, space requirements and implement changes
- To forecast requirements, prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions
- Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures
- Manage operations staff levels, wages, hours and contract labour against revenues
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors
- Identify and address operations problems and opportunities for the company
- Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment
- To plan for short and long-term operations goals
- Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
- Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations
- To work with the finance team to assist with planning of general finance, budgeting & Profit and Loss.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Drives team to manage material shortages to ensure Clear to Builds in collaboration with the Purchasing and SLM Team.
- Supports the team being the liaison between customer project management and internal departments on the introduction of new product requirements.
- Ensures the team performs a timely and accurate demand management process (If the demand is managed by the Planning Team at your Site).
- Ensures proper Excess, Surplus and Obsolete inventory.
- Ensures team identifies the impact of excess and obsolescence and drives necessary actions to mitigate it.
- Ensures bills of material are accurate and collaborate with other teams on any engineering changes.
- Collaborates with different stakeholders to achieve Inventory Entitlement targets and drive results.
- Drives actions to meet the Inventory goals (Inventory cash adjusted and Turns), including performing accurate Inventory Projection.
- Leads the team to maintain continuous Material Supply to achieve the targeted inventory levels and turns.
- Ensures the team Performs material and capacity analysis before loading MPS. Monitor MPS accuracy, attainment and level load metrics and drive necessary actions to improve them.
- Validates that the team Performs Financial Impact Analysis (FIA) to mitigate inventory risk before loading MPS.
- Works with other departments to review and dispose of non-conforming materials.
- Ensures production schedules to meet the customer requirements to achieve high levels of on time delivery.
- Ensures proper POR including OAR management and timely execution.
- Drives necessary actions to meet revenue goals.
- Manages RMA orders. Works with other departments to meet repair commitments.
- Monitors planning parameters ROP & SS to ensure optimized inventory levels.
- Ensures proper execution of the SIOP Process (including accurate data, timely submission, and execution of Rhythm meetings with the key stakeholders) until approval completion on a monthly basis.
- Maintains responsibility for SCM Team training completion, performance management, development, recognition, coaching and compensation of employees.
- Reassigns personnel as necessary to optimize work. Act as a liaison with customers to ensure forecast commitments are met.
- Collaborates with other departments to improve supplyflex programs.
- Submits Investment Inventories for material that is not required for normal manufacturing operations or to support standard level of customer service.
- Follow global procedures and policies and drive practices aligned to them.
- Collaborates with Global and Segment teams to drive Inventory Management Operating System.
- Manages KRIs, Planning Metrics and drives necessary actions.
- Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
- Responsible for annual physical inventory, site surplus/excess sale process and disposition of scrap material.
- Develops and executes site inventory management processes including forecasting, analysis, reporting, action plans.
- Oversees design, development, integration and maintenance of SCM systems, tools, processes and training at the site.
- Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
