Provide individual and group counselling services to students addressing a wide range of personal, academic, and emotional issues.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand students' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions to facilitate student growth and resilience.
Leadership and Supervision:
Supervise and mentor junior counsellors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to enhance their professional development.
Lead team meetings, case study and supervision sessions and to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among counselling staff.
Program Development and Collaboration/Training:
Collaborate with faculty, staff, parents, and external agencies to develop, implement counselling programs and new initiatives that meet the diverse needs of students.
Assess the effectiveness of counselling programs and new initiatives through data collection and analysis, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Provide consultation and training to faculty and staff on mental health needs, crisis response, and best practices to support student mental health.
Advocacy and Outreach:
Advocate for student psychological well-being within the institution and the broader community, raising awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental health issues and help‑seeking.
Develop and deliver student outreach programs, workshops, and presentations to promote mental health awareness, resilience, and self‑care among students.
Crisis Intervention and Coordination:
Provide crisis intervention to students in distressed, including assessing risk, providing immediate support, and coordinating follow‑up care as needed.
Develop and implement crisis response protocols and procedures in collaboration with campus stakeholders to ensure the coordination and response strategies are effective to mitigate the emergency threats.
Administrative Work:
Manage and introspect counselling systems regularly to ensure the functionality and user friendly.
Analyse statistic and data of counselling services and generate reports to Management Team.
Professional Development:
Engage in continuing professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and best practices in the field of counselling and mental health.
Engage in professional certifications or training opportunities in relations to counselling and/or mental health to continuously expand professional repertoire with new skills and approaches.
REQUIREMENTS :
MUST possess a Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or its equivalent.
Preferably candidates with 5 years of related working experience in the education industry, especially those with experience working with young adults.
MUST be a certified counsellor, registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM).
Has outstanding communication skills - both written and oral
Mandarin
and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
Comfortable in dealing with students from different cultural backgrounds.
Good communication skills and high emotional intelligence abilities.
Excellent planning, observation, communication, interpersonal and time management skills
