Overview: The successful candidate will be based in Cyberjaya and its responsibilities include service management, vendor management, product deployment, administration, and support escalation of enterprise storage infrastructure across multiple countries. The role requires collaboration with architecture and technology teams to engineer and deliver innovative storage solutions to accelerate technology transformation. Responsibilities: Provide operational support for the storage infrastructure, including service management, vendor management, lifecycle management, product deployment, administration, and support escalation of enterprise storage systems from Huawei, Hitachi, Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM and Brocade. Partner with infrastructure and application teams to deliver storage solutions, projects, and drive migration to strategic storage platforms. Take ownership of storage related incidents till resolution with impact analysis, root cause analysis and preventive measures. Ensure problem tasks are timely closed. Ensure all service outages are restored in a timely manner and abide by the Fix-Once principle. Lead and review storage system changes to ensure smooth execution and compliance to the change management framework. Conduct performance analysis, tuning, automate system operations, and capacity planning. Perform proactive review of processes, improve, automate, and harmonize them. Conduct deep dive analysis of operational issues, identify improvements to mitigate risks, and develop appropriate control measures. Coordinate the execution of periodic controls and reviews, including the development of metrics, reports, and standards. Support audit and compliance activities, manage department corrective actions, provide input to the risk assessment process. Able to support and respond to ad-hoc requests from time to time including outside of office working hours. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering. At least 10 years’ experience working in a storage environment with understanding of service and project management. Extensive experience in IT infrastructure concepts and solutions. Strong working knowledge of enterprise SAN / NAS storage technologies from Huawei, Hitachi, Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM and Brocade. Working experience in scripting and automation. Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris. Knowledge of automation tools, scripting such as Ansible, Terraform. Platform performance management and capacity planning. Extensive experience of investigating and managing infrastructure related incidents. Strong knowledge of cyber-security, data security best practices and compliance requirements related to Storage and Backup. Personal Characteristics Excellent communications skills with the ability to explain complex technological ideas and concepts in a way that is understandable to a non- technical audience. Strong sense of personal accountability in providing efficient end-to-end delivery with a high focus on costs. Highly motivated, result oriented, attention to details, ability to work independently with a high sense of integrity, flexibility, and urgency. Ability to manage multiple assignments while keeping the focus and meeting key goals. Ability to build and maintain partnerships. About the role : We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive Virtualization & Storage Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the setup, maintenance, optimization, and monitoring of virtualized platforms and enterprise storage systems. The ideal candidate should bring hands-on expertise in VMware, Nutanix, and HPE storage technologies, and be capable of supporting high-availability environments with enterprise-scale requirements.

Responsibilities

Virtualization:

• Manage VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter (version 7 and above), and VMware HA Clusters.
• Set up VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter environments from scratch.
• Work in Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environments, including Nutanix Prism Element, Prism Central, and AHV.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines in VMware and Nutanix environments.
• Administer network virtualization components like vSwitches, port groups, and VLANs.
• Provide support and administration for Mobile Device Management (Workspace One) and Citrix.
• Basic knowledge of email archiving solutions is an added advantage.
  
  

Storage:

• Design and enforce policies and procedures for storage provisioning, uptime, compliance, and data protection.
• Configure, maintain, and support enterprise SAN systems including HPE Alletra, HPE 3PAR, HPE Nimble, and HPE MSA.
• Perform capacity planning, monitoring, and housekeeping for SAN storage systems.
• Manage LUN presentation, virtual storage pools, disk groups, and RAID configurations.
• Administer SAN switches including troubleshooting and zoning.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic solutions to enhance business continuity and ensure data security and integrity.
• Respond to incident and task tickets promptly, documenting resolutions in knowledge base articles.
• Proactively monitor system performance and plan upgrades to meet SLA and growth projections.

• Collaborate with stakeholders for the deployment and troubleshooting of end-user solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Linux System Administration

· Maintain accurate and up to date system documentation for all managed environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

· 5 years of proven experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production environment.

· Strong hands on experience with the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise grade Software Defined Storage (SDS) solutions (e.g., Ceph, GlusterFS, OpenEBS, Veritas InfoScale, Nutanix Acropolis, or similar).

· Proficiency in administering various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu).

· Strong hands on experience with command line interface (CLI) and advanced shell scripting (Bash, Python, Perl).

· Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routing).

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help set up, manage, and support the company’s IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud services. You'll work with both Windows and Linux systems, handle day-to-day troubleshooting, and make sure everything runs smoothly and securely.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise servers running Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on skills in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Administer Huawei Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environments.
• Manage VMware vCenter virtual infrastructure.
• Utilize IT operations platforms such as ManageEngine (preferred).
• Support and work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud (advantageous).
• Troubleshoot and resolve server hardware, OS, and network-related issues; collaborate with vendors as required.
• Monitor server and network performance metrics to ensure SLAs are maintained.
• Forecast server and network usage based on user and application growth projections.
• Address and close audit findings related to server and network infrastructure.
• Administer backup solutions such as Veeam or Cohesity (preferred).
• Design and implement high availability (HA) solutions from both server and network perspectives.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises focusing on server, network, and backup systems.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices throughout the infrastructure environment.

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology or extensive field experience in lieu.
• Extensive hands on experience of Windows/Linux servers administration in an enterprise environment
• Hands on experience in the following:
• Managengine
• Microsoft AD Administration is an advantage
• Veam or Cohesity Backup experience an advantage.
• Experience utilising and configuring Solarwinds, Dynatrace an advantage
• Experience with security EDR tools, DLP an advantage
• Strong understanding of networking
• Secondary ability to perform network administration an advantage. Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, VPN, LAN and WAN links.
• Huawei Switches/Routers
• Aruba switches/wifi
• Palo Alto, Fortigate, Sonicwall firewalls
• F5 Load balancer
• Iperva Load balancer
• Working with local WAN link providers like TM and Time.
• Ability to create accurate documentation, including network/server diagrams and design/planning documents.
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Good communication skills written and spoken
• Good analytical and problem solving skills including ability to visualise and plan troubleshooting steps.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other parties towards a common goal

Role Description & Responsibilities

Your specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues across various environments. In addition, automate routine system administration tasks and optimize operational workflows.
• Support infrastructure patching, upgrades, and security hardening processes while collaborating with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to integrate infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain and improve system documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution whilst monitoring software infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or OpsManager
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or related fields with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and solid understanding of virtualization (VMware), networking, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, etc.
• Good familiarity with the use of IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and with Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication protocols.
• Experience with version control tools like Git. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) is an added advantage.
