GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Accountable for providing professional nursing care to patients within a hospital unit, adhering to hospital policies and nursing services principles, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality care is practiced. Notify the unit manager of any changes in the situation that could impact on the standards of care.
Collaborate with the Unit Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the Operation Theatre (OT) and Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) daily.
Provide the operating theatre room ready for use by checking the completion of damp dusting, verifying the gas supply in the anesthetic machine cylinder, and preparing trolleys and standby items for use.
Collaborate with ward staff to ensure patients arrive at the OT on time, thereby optimizing the utilization of the OT.
Adherence to Patient Safety Goals; Save Surgery Save Live involves accurately identifying patients, preparing them for procedures, checking patients with staff, noting abnormalities, and referring patients to the surgeon and anesthetist if necessary.
Escort patients into the operating rooms safely and record all cases in the Operation Theatre Record Book.
Check and label specimens properly after each case, confirming with the surgeon, if necessary, before sending them to the laboratory or pathology services.
Provides personalized, holistic patient care using the nursing process approach, maintaining accurate documentation in patient folders, and promptly reporting any abnormal findings to relevant doctors or consultants.
Evaluate patients, provide emotional support and accompanying doctors while doing rounds, as well as assisting in procedures as needed.
Executing the doctor's orders, coordinating with team members related to the patient’s treatment, and fostering effective communication with all disciplines, patients, and relatives to ensure patient satisfaction.
Engage in the health education of patients and their families, unit meetings, dialogue sessions, and hospital activities.
Produce clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication with patients, ensuring their understanding of their condition, treatment options, and care plan comprehensively.
Collaborate with the unit manager in administration, setting care standards, and fulfilling duties in the absence of the unit manager, while also carrying out assigned tasks and providing feedback.
Charge accurately, incorporating charges for equipment and consumable items into the patient's charges and verifying their completeness.
Inspect and document the supply of sterile packs to ensure the integrity of the packaging and maintain an adequate supply of unit stock from Central Sterile Supply Services.
EDUCATION: Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing.
Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Post Basic qualification in a related field.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCES: Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of clinical experience and diversity in clinical experience.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Possess certifications in BLS, ACLS, MTLS, PALS and NRP (according to the specialties)
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Proficient in writing and conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Caring, honest, and responsible workers and team players.
Microsoft Office literacy.

Key skills and Experience
Successfully completed bachelor or higher education in economics or scientific related disciplines
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Customer Care Management
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Project Management
Experience in managing complex projects
Fluent speaking and writing in English, another language is of advantage
Methodological competence, analytical skills and affinity for numbers and figures
Expertise in stakeholder management
Excellent communication skills, empathic, solution-oriented and team-oriented approach

Job Description
Assisting patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and grooming to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
Supporting patient mobility by helping with transfers, walking, repositioning, and range of motion exercises to prevent complications with supervision by staff nurses.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, including sanitizing work areas, restocking supplies.
Provide support to staff nurses in attending patient's call bell and requests and communicate the patient's request to team leader.
Job Requirements
Possess a minimum SPM and above qualification.
Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Melayu.
Possesses relevant experience in hospital setting will be added advantage.
Able to work on shift including night shift.
