Responsible for developing a supplier database that identifies and categorizes potential suppliers by category and region to increase the value proposition and reduce TCO. Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic influence while building value-add relationships with engaged finished good suppliers to increase sourcing efficiency. Manages strategic supplier relationships in line with the Category Strategy and understands the strategic differentiators for each supplier. Define, build, and plan alignment on Category Strategy for assigned category. Gathers Market Intelligence and trends for the Category and Sub-Categories Identifies risks within the category and works closely with stakeholders to eliminate or take mitigating actions for strategic risks. Drives Supplier strategic activities and develops Supplier capability roadmaps as part of the Category Strategy by collaborating with Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality and other key stakeholders. Promotes and works towards balanced continuous (year-on-year) value improvement for all aspects of quality, service, and cost with assigned suppliers. Manages supplier performance and identifies Value Improvement Programs to improve TCO accordingly. Ensures optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure to ensure maximum value is realized. Negotiates value improvements and manages supplier contracts. Leads R&D communications related to the Category and facilitates the identification and evaluation of new materials or technologies to cover current and potential future BSC requirements Identifies all suitable suppliers per category and region per sample RFQ and develops comprehensive supplier knowledge & database. Job Purpose
Assist sourcing projects, including tendering, negotiations and selection of suppliers that deliver the targeted business results. Success involves understanding the business and commercials and the associated supply markets and demand characteristics and contract requirements
Manage and deliver expectations to critical stakeholders, ensure timely preparation of reports for Procurement Tender Committees
Key Accountabilities
Assist overall spend on assigned categories amounting to (RM50m-60m annually) to successfully drive business requirements by selecting, negotiating, contracting, and managing suppliers’ new and existing products in a manner that optimizes quality, service, innovation and cost objectives
Conducts the supply market analysis to evaluate supplier capabilities, assess potential risk areas, and identify feasible new suppliers to create competition to reduce cost and assure supply.
Develop and execute annual Strategic Sourcing Plan and associated tendering process for assigned categories, develop supplier list, prepare tender documents, follow up on submissions, evaluate the request and present award strategy/recommendation to management for approval. Responsible for ensuring strict compliance to all key policies and procedures: Procurement Policy and Procedures, Compliance Policy, GDS policy etc.
Ensure NTCs requirements aligned with Group Engineering, Group Operations, Strategic Sourcing Team, and other related departments
Assists in the development and implementation of sourcing contracts: Execute the local implementation of Master Frame Agreements (MFA), including finalizing local commercial terms and agreement (Local Agreement)
Captures insights from market analysis to support stakeholder innovation, to mitigate risks for edotco and to steer category strategies to identify opportunities for cost savings
Ensure contracts are effectively negotiated using fact-based logic and subsequently managed to deliver value and meet business needs
Manage supplier relationships to ensure value, innovation and continuous improvement while understanding and mitigating risk to the NTC
Ensure that supplier contractual responsibilities are fully adhered to and address non-compliances, performance issues, and challenges where necessary.
Perform procurement operations activities covering material master registration, supplier registration, PR / PO process, contract renewal, SLA for sourcing and etc.
Ensure alignment with Head – Regional Operations and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in procurement

Understand of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles
Possess an analytical mindset, agile and comfortable working in an environment characterized by change
Possess strong oral and written communication skills

API is looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Sourcing Specialist. In this role, the Sourcing Specialist will actively manage the procurement process for our airline clients in conjunction with hotel partners in designated markets. Responsibilities will include conducting market analysis, identifying industry trends, developing sourcing strategies, sourcing various destinations, negotiating with hotels and ground transportation providers, and creating evaluation and recommendation presentations in Excel and PowerPoint. Responsibilities
Manage hotel sourcing projects for our clients by conducting market research on accommodation and ground transportation. Develop industry knowledge, including market trends and cost drivers, while building and maintaining strong business relationships. Oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) processes using API’s proprietary sourcing technology. Evaluate suppliers against established requirements, negotiate hotel offers, concessions, and contract terms and conditions. Collaborate with Account Managers to develop sourcing strategies that are best suited to each project, including identifying opportunities to conduct reverse auctions to expedite the sourcing process. Research, analyze, and apply market trends and conditions to create effective sourcing strategies that secure the best possible outcomes for airline and hotel partners. Produce high-quality and detailed evaluation reports in Excel and PowerPoint presentations, which include proposal analysis and identified market trends, all while meeting established deadlines. Strong communication skills are essential to articulate sourcing results clearly. Adapt to changing circumstances, such as conducting rapid market analyses and adjusting sourcing requirements to address shifts caused by airline schedule changes or unforeseen situations. Approach each project with the goal of achieving win-win solutions for all parties involved. Update and track all information in Salesforce. Arrange site inspections for Account Managers and API clients. Additional duties may be assigned to the Sourcing Manager based on clients’ or API’s needs, as communicated directly by their supervisor. Ensure response times align with airline-specific service level agreements (SLAs). Competencies
A minimum of two to three years of experience in a procurement role, with at least two years in a global capacity, interacting with international suppliers and supply markets A minimum of two years of experience in the travel industry, ideally working closely with airlines and/or hotels Strong fluency in English is required; multilingual skills are a plus, with a preference for French, Mandarin, Japanese, or Hindi Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality work Results-driven with a problem-solving mindset Previous experience in contract negotiation is essential Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong relationship-building, customer service, and client relationship skills Ability to work effectively with and understand diverse cultures internationally Capability to multitask and work well under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment Flexibility in schedule with the willingness to work after hours as business needs require Required Education And Experience
