Human Resource Business Partner at CEVA LogisticsThis role, reporting to the Head of Solutions Design, involves providing customer-facing expertise in solution design and leading the project and Solutions Design team internally. The position requires collaboration with the Business Development Manager to understand detailed customer needs and create an initial solution blueprint. You will serve as the liaison between Solution Design Engineers, Business Development Managers, other CEVA departments, and customers to support the Business Development Contract Logistics Sales process in the Asia Pacific region.
Key responsibilities of the Solutions Design Professional/Manager includes:
- Managing projects to develop solutions tailored to customer requirements for Contract Logistics in the MY Cluster.
- Taking full responsibility for the outcomes of the solution design process, including design, costing, risk mitigation, proposal preparation, and sign-off.
- Defining and agreeing on the proposal's scope and timeline with clients.
- Conducting business requirement workshops and coordinating with operations and IT on the proposed solutions.
- Leading Solution Design Engineers in the comprehensive development of solutions using PRIMO.
- Preparing business proposals, including internal approvals and customer documentation.
- Collaborating with the Business Development Manager/Key Account Manager on proposal development issues and escalating to the steering committee as needed.
- Identifying and mitigating operational and commercial risks in proposals.
- Ensuring all submissions comply with CEVA business rules.
- Organizing internal sign-off meetings.
- Presenting solutions to clients and internal senior management.
- Developing the skills and capabilities of Solutions Design Engineers.
- Supporting the Business Development team by participating in sales calls to promote CEVA’s contract logistics capabilities and influence customer decision-making.
- Working with operations managers to identify growth opportunities by leveraging core capabilities.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required for this role include:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of work experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- 3-7 years of experience in logistics and supply chain, consulting, or manufacturing, with a strong understanding of warehousing and transportation.

Key responsibilities
We're hiring an Assistant Manager, Solution Design to develop logistics solutions and support business growth. The role is responsible for our mega distribution center warehouse in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Own Solution design, costing & pricing of assigned projects by line manager
Understand and preempt customer needs and integrate this insight into sustainable solution designs
Develop detailed designs for the solution incorporating the scope of services, operating model, resource models, operating cost estimates, recommended selling price, estimated value for the client and draft P&L for Maersk
Calculate warehouse size based on throughput and product data mainly provided as part of a customer RFQ
Create warehouse process flows for key activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch to maximize productivity
Calculate activity productivity targets to support resource and activity-based costing models
Create warehouse throughput simulation models using industry leading software to visualize warehouse operations, throughputs, and alternatives
Create warehouse layouts and engineering designs using AutoCAD software
Capture core data and assumptions that are required to design, cost and price the solution for the customer This includes the process for capturing all customer insights that might be relevant for this pursuit or future upselling opportunities
We’re looking for
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in Solution Design/Operations/Operations Excellence role, preferably in the contract logistics / warehousing / distribution center industry
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of studies
Knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD is advantageous
Skilled warehouse solution personnel who has deep understanding of making process changes on productivity and financials
Exposure to working in warehouse or logistics operations including implementation
Strong ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures and countries
Good analytical, conceptual thinking and problem solving skills
Good command of English, both spoken and written
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Macros

Solution Development Fundamentally ensuring the execution of the Solution Design workstream with steps and deliverables as defined in detail within Business Unit SOP - Contract Logistics Delivery Method (CLDM) and as summarised here.
- Adopt and effectively deploy Solution Standards, Processes, Tools and Templates aligned to Global/Regional SD Initiatives to enable and support efficiencies in Solution Design across APAC to
- Establish optimal Solution Concept in alignment with the customers’ needs and operating characteristics and to our established Core Products standards and Best Practices.
- Clearly articulate the key components of the Supply Chain in scope and present material flow to enable logical design decisions.
- Ensure the efficiency of data analysis and interpretation of customer’s data to recommend suitable storage system(s), material handling equipment (MHE), processes and resources.
- Collaborate with GREM team to identify the most suitable & efficient warehouses, and design layout based on customer business requirements utilising the software provided.
- Conduct necessary reviews including peer reviews, operations reviews as well as supporting deal reviews for validations/challenges of key cost/risk drivers within the response and solution modelling against the projects’ requirements in order to drive optimum offerings in accordance to customers’ expectations.
- Enable to deliver high end solutions from improved awareness and understanding of innovative concepts utilising the latest available and accepted technology (including automation, robotics).
- Work within a Standard Work Framework for Solution Design APAC, to ensure efficient solution design process and aligned to the key steps and milestones represented in CLDM.
- Leverage the usage of high standards for Solution Design collaterals, including but not limited to proposal documents and templates, operational benchmarking cases for target verticals and customers as well as additional supporting information relevant to support the articulation of the Solution Design content to ensure company is effectively represented in proposals and engagements.
- Involve and work out with internal teams including but not limited to those responsible for Commercial Management (Business Development & Customer Management), Innovation & Automation, Operations Excellence to deliver engagement programs for the SD community, ensuring they are kept up to date with the latest and relevant technology trends, innovation, and automation as well as dissemination of vital lessons learnt from implementations to ensure Continuous Improvement. Commercial & Pricing Work in partnership with internal teams during Tender Management phase to develop cost competitive and viable solutions to ensure profitability and/or the recovery of all project and operation costs.
- Determine and compare costings required for the proposed solution via key personnel/team within country organization, existing vendor contacts and/or direct sourcing.
- Drive collaboration through Solution Peer Reviews including validation/challenge of the key cost drivers within the response and solution modelling against the project requirements in order to drive optimum selling rates in accordance to customer pricing template.
- Ensure projected revenue in the cost models meet the targeted MIRR (Modified Internal Rate of Return) and EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Tax).
- Validate and review cost models with key stakeholders based on design assumptions and proposed terms and conditions and advise them on the potential business risk.
- Support the financial justifications and investment Applications process (IA) for new business awards to obtain the relevant level of approval.
- Support the Sales and BD team in the development of negotiation strategy, Win Plan and value proposition with supporting assessments and calculations. Coaching & Training Participate and support the SD Leader and Advanced SD to improve the competency of the internal teams within the region through various means of knowledge sharing. This includes
- Being an ambassador of the Solution Design steps within CLDM, inclusive of all associated tools, templates, standards, and processes and to guide new SD peers/buddies as necessary to ensure awareness and compliance.
- Supporting to adopt and participate training programs in the areas of solution design to designated SD Team as required with necessary materials and tools based on training needs.
- Adopting a systematic process approach to drive advancement of SD resources including the establishment of Individual Development Plan (IDP) for self and clearly identifying personal development initiatives and alignment to business needs.
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a relevant technical field
- Industry Experience:
- More than 3 years of relevant experience in the logistics and supply chain industry
- Preferred experience in 3PL, 4PL, and LLP environments
- Industry exposure in Electronics/Semiconductor, Healthcare, Consumer/Retail (including eCommerce), Automotive, and Industrial sectors
- Warehouse & Supply Chain Design:
- Experience in modern warehouse and distribution operations
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, and digitalization in warehousing
- Strong knowledge of warehouse solution design and ability to develop operationally feasible solutions to meet customer requirements
- Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Practical experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with supply chain design tools such as CLASS, SketchUp, or similar is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of commercial and technical aspects of Contract Logistics
- Software Proficiency:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel – VBA, VLOOKUP, PivotTables; PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps such as Visio, Stream, and Power BI is a plus
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Proficiency in other Asian or European languages is an advantage
- Strong presentation and persuasive skills when proposing solutions to customers
