About the Role We are currently expanding our advanced manufacturing and R&D footprint in the South East Asia region where we are collaborating with vendor partners to develop complex automation solutions for dental manufacturing. These initiatives require co-development of novel, custom 3D/CAD/CAM algorithms and coordination with production process management software for machines to operate successfully in our manufacturing center. To accelerate this work, we’re hiring a software engineering team based to work closely with local vendors and serve as the technical bridge between our U.S. engineering team and the machine development process on the ground. This is a critical hire designed to increase development velocity. Be the bridge between our machine development and software development teams.

Oversee development testing and deployment of custom software modules which are critical to machine function (eg: custom path planning or design for manufacturing compensation algorithms)

Drive team execution and accountability in alignment with the strategic goals of the phases of machine development.

Partner with our TPMs to ensure development dependencies are in alignment with project program plans.

Familiar with systems integration, hardware/software interfaces, and production station bring-up.

Experienced with diagnostic tooling, debugging processes, and real-time monitoring of distributed systems.

Comfortable with ambiguity and working in fast-moving, cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

Job Description

Software Development Engineer C# Materialise, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software in C#/Python for 3D software.

Develop and maintain automated tests.

Apply proper Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles throughout the solution development process.

Ensure coding standards are followed and help enforce good programming practices within the development team.

Work closely with team members in Agile and Scrum.

Participate proactively in technical discussions, estimations, reviews, retrospectives, and meetings to contribute to a better understanding of user needs and process improvements.

Deliver work with quality and completeness within the agreed timeline.

Handle customer issues by providing support, troubleshooting, and bug fixing.

Create and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science or engineering (majoring in computing, electrical, electronics, or other relevant areas).

Passionate about and skilled in programming (C# and Python, especially).

At least 2 years of working experience as a software engineer.

Knowledgeable about Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.

Good interpersonal skills.

Team player and able to work independently.

Good analytical, debugging, and lateral thinking skills.

Familiarity with version control, such as Azure DevOps/Git.

Plus points

Good at mathematics involving 3D space manipulation.

Experience working in Agile/Lean and Scrum methodology.

Prior experience in an ISO/FDA/AMMi-regulated environment.
