Role Purpose(s)
Analyze, design, and develop IT applications.
Key Accountabilities
Participate in the active development of large-scale systems.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze, design, program, and document IT systems or applications.
- Analyze business requirements to derive program specifications.
- Provide system documentation.
- Perform and manage stages of Agile Development and participate in system reviews with the Project Lead/Manager.
- Understand interdependencies of services (application, system, database) and accurately identify problem areas to improve efficiency.
- Design and document system architecture, propose appropriate technologies, and ensure user sign-off on designs.
- Use development tools to develop applications.
- Provide technical guidance to junior colleagues.
- Stay updated on technological advancements, emerging standards, and new software/hardware solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
Working Experience Requirements
- Hands-on programmer with experience in Agile delivery.
- Experience developing Java EE Web Applications and Java UI Frameworks.
- Java, Java EE certifications preferred.
- Technical project leadership experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Java, Java EE, Struts, JSF, Spring, EJB, Hibernate, IBatis, Weblogic, Oracle DB, LDAP, MQ Series, JBoss, Apache Tomcat, ESB, SQL, PL/SQL.
- Experience with modern full-stack web technologies, including Next.js/React.js, Java/Kotlin, and Spring Boot, is highly preferred.

Position:
The IT Software Specialist is responsible for applying the discipline knowledge and to act as its true partner to SBM business users in providing system support. You advise within your area of expertise, and you are to remain at the forefront of technology developments to identify innovative methods to carry out assigned tasks that will increase the overall quality and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS
In order to support, govern and contribute to a fully integrated and aligned IT Strategy across the SBM organization, you are to:
- Liaise, work together with, and advise your colleagues within different RC’s and disciplines;
- Execute the processes and best practices necessary to work according to the direction and Strategy of Group IT (and make suggestions for improvement if required);
- Update and organize all system related documentation and working instruction in the central repository;
- Ensure quality and accurate information of software assets in the CMDB;
- Support the Network and System team in solving cross-discipline complex problems;
- Work on four main areas (Implementation, Support, Monitor, Report).
In order to ensure knowledge sharing and creating awareness amongst the IT community on your respective specialism, you are to:
- Keep the IT community informed on any new initiatives and decisions taken that might have an impact on day-to-day business;
- Participate in project implementation when required;
- Ensure a cross-functional alignment to minimize down-time within the overall IT landscape.
In order to ensure that you understand and manage your stakeholders and their requirements as well as having assigned activities completed successfully, you are to:
- Understand, plan and deliver assigned tasks with accuracy to meet stakeholders needs in a timely manner;
- Identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and clarify as necessary with stakeholders to ensure no surprises;
- Complete tasks in compliance with applicable standards and work procedures;
- Identify areas for potential issues and proactively communicate with stakeholders to resolve issues, share information and provide guidance as required;
- Seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise and recommend alternative solutions;
- Perform thorough self-check of all solutions prior to release for use by stakeholders;
- Properly plan work to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and adjustments to ensure intended functionality;
- Network with stakeholders to serve as a source of support in executing project;
- Produce consistent/organized instructions in a well-structured format to convey required information to stakeholders.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor in IT related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in combined Software Support and developer role;
- Familiar with hybrid cloud environment;
- Must possess relevant software experience or cloud certifications – ServiceNow, Azure, PowerBI, Sharepoint, AVEVA, SCOM;
- Must possess hands-on technical experience in ServiceNow, SCOM, PowerBI, Sharepoint;
- Must possess either Oracle or SQL DB experience;
- Must possess hands-on technical experience in maintaining Windows OS;
- Possess security, OS and network knowledge with some experience especially in cloud environment will be added advantage.
PERSONAL SKILLS:
- Team player and taking an active role to train and educate others;
- Good organizational skills;
- Proactive and curious;
- Ability to work accurately and quickly;
- Energetic, independent, self-motivated and able to manage complexity;
- Able to travel overseas when required;
- Required to work after office hours or on weekends when necessary.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
- Ensure that Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) usage at MT complies with the internal operating policies and does not introduce security, license or operational risk for METTLER TOLEDO (MT) products.
- Collaborate with the Open-Source Compliance Officer (OSCO) to monitor FOSS usage and compliance across projects.
- Ensure QA best practices are followed in the team
- Is responsible for maintaining the FOSS corporate repository, where the FOSS components allowed for usage in MT products are managed.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving or rejecting requests for the introduction of new FOSS components
- Support the business units with the usage of Software Composition Analysis tool, ensuring that FOSS components are managed through Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) for continuous validation.
- Promotes FOSS adoption in MT and contributes to projects by developing features, fixing bugs, and collaborating with the community
- Provide training and guidance to software development teams on FOSS policies and best practices.
- Knows FOSS licensing mechanisms, and the particularity of strong copyleft and weak copyleft licenses.
- Can assess if the usage of a specific FOSS component complies with the overall proprietary application license.
- Act as a point of contact for inquiries related to FOSS compliance and licensing.
What You Need to Succeed
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education.
- With minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Good knowledge of software development (e.g. .NET, C++, Java). Can contribute to FOSS projects by implementing modifications to the FOSS tools.
- Knowledge of software security processes (SCA, SAST, DAST, Penetration Testing).
- Knowledge of Secure Software Development Life-Cycle related processes and in general with practices like the NIST Secure Software Development Framework.
- Familiarity with Vulnerability Databases and Scoring Methodologies, like CVE, NVD and CVSS

Position:
The IT Software Specialist is responsible for applying the discipline knowledge and to act as its true partner to SBM business users in providing system support. RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS:
In order to support, govern and contribute to a fully integrated and aligned IT Strategy across the SBM organization, you are to:
- Liaise, work together with- and advise your colleagues within different RC’s and disciplines;
- Execute the processes and best practices necessary to work according to the direction and Strategy of Group IT (and make suggestions for improvement if required);
- Update and organize all system related documentation and working instruction in the central repository;
- Ensure quality and accurate information of software assets in the CMDB;
- Support the Network and System team in solving cross-discipline complex problems;
- Work on four main areas (Implementation, Support, Monitor, Report).
In order to ensure knowledge sharing and creating awareness amongst the IT community on your respective specialism, you are to:
- Keep the IT community informed on any new initiatives and decisions taken that might have an impact on day-to-day business;
- Participate in project implementation when required;
- Ensure a cross functional alignment to minimize down-time within the overall IT landscape.
In order to ensure that you understand and manage your stakeholders and their requirements as well as having assigned activities completed successfully, you are to:
- Understand, plan and deliver assigned tasks with accuracy to meet stakeholders needs in a timely manner;
- Identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and clarify as necessary with stakeholders to ensure no surprises;
- Complete tasks in compliance with applicable standards and work procedures;
- Identify areas for potential issues and proactively communicate with stakeholders to resolve issues, share information and provide guidance as required;
- Seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise and recommend alternative solutions;
- Perform thorough self-check of all solutions prior to release for use by stakeholders;
- Properly plan work to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and adjustments to ensure intended functionality;
- Network with stakeholders to serve as a source of support in executing project;
- Produce consistent/organized instructions in a well-structured format to convey required information to stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor in IT related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in combined Software Support and developer role;
- Familiar with hybrid cloud environment;
- Must possess relevant software experience or cloud certifications – ServiceNow, Azure, PowerBI, Sharepoint, AVEVA, SCOM;
- Must possess hands-on technical experience in ServiceNow, SCOM, PowerBI, Sharepoint;
- Must possess either Oracle or SQL DB experience;
- Must possess hands-on technical experience in maintaining Windows OS;
- Possess security, OS and network knowledge with some experience especially in cloud environment will be added advantage.
