Translate business and operational needs into technical automation requirements and designs. Enable accelerated delivery of network services and capabilities by reducing manual effort and improving reliability. Ensure automation solutions align with operational priorities and business outcomes.
Processes
Champion CI/CD strategies, GitOps Practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) across using ADO, Python, Ansible, Open Policy Agent and containerisation. Define and enforce standards for automation development (e.g. coding best practices, SDLC) Support templating, modularization, and version control of automation scripts and playbooks. Ensure consistent and governed automation delivery across all deployment environments.

Governance
Establish automation design principles and documentation standards to ensure traceability and auditability. Define governance frameworks for managing automation pipelines, scripts, and configuration. Work closely with platform and security teams to enforce architectural standards and regulatory compliance.

Job Description The Software Quality Lead will report to the Sr. Manager of Software Quality within the Supply Chain function and will support Motorola LMR Products and Services. This individual will be a “change agent” and will integrate quality checks throughout the development cycle of software tools and applications, ensuring the development team integrates quality checks throughout the product development process. This role will also be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of processes and procedures used for improving the efficiency of quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Improve the effectiveness of the Quality organization through effective leadership, individual and collective training, and process improvement in conjunction with the development teams.
Ensure manufacturing engineering, supply quality and operations, and design engineering enable seamless product transition and robust software performance.
Facilitate DFMEA sessions and design reviews to strengthen early defect prevention.
Partner with global engineering and quality leaders in the US and Europe to ensure the highest software quality standards.
Lead initiatives across the full software lifecycle.
Use DMAIC and Six Sigma methods to identify trends, drive root‑cause analysis, and implement improvements.
Represent the Malaysia site in executive reviews, presenting clear, data‑backed insights.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and TL 9000 telecom quality standards.
Collaborate with engineering and various functional organizations to ensure that all phases of the product lifecycle meet requirements for success.
Software Quality and Process Improvement:
Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate quality best practices throughout the SDLC.
Define and monitor leading and lagging metrics that measure software process performance and product quality.
Identify gaps in the software development process and drive initiatives to mitigate quality escapes.
Data Analytics and Defect Prediction:
Develop data models and reports that provide insights into software defect trends, severity, and risk areas.
Support defect prediction efforts by identifying key historical and real‑time data points to forecast potential quality risks.
Ensure quality data collection processes align with software development milestones and deliverables.
Data Integrity and Warehousing:
Work with data warehousing teams to ensure seamless integration of software quality data from multiple sources.
Ensure that data pipelines are accurate, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
Build and maintain dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or Excel to support decision‑making.
Leadership and Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for software defects and quality issues, ensuring lessons learned are fed back into the SDLC.
Partner with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, testing, and operations, to align quality goals with product roadmaps.
Mentor and support junior engineers to strengthen the organization’s overall software quality capabilities.
Assesses customer and business impact from product quality issues, communicates issues globally and drives supporting teams for issue resolution.
Analyzes production, supplier, and fulfillment standards and limitations and drives process improvements across teams to improve Quality KPIs.
Report Quality KPIs and improvement actions to the leadership on an ongoing basis.
Analyzes product failures to determine root cause, generates failure analysis reports, and works in conjunction with engineering and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or similar STEM degree (Master’s preferred).
At least 5 years of experience in either software development or manufacturing.
Background in LMR, telecom, or mission‑critical communications products.
Expertise in quality processes and metrics.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum and Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as EasyBI, Tableau.
Proficiency in (Product Lifecycle Management) PLM.
Working understanding of automated test scripts and frameworks using tools such as C#, Java Script, CSS/HTML, Typescript, and SQL.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Certification in quality assurance or Six Sigma belt holder is a plus.
