Job Description The Software Engineer will work as a part of the application services team and closely with Keypath’s product management and enterprise architecture teams to support and implement high-quality application and software solutions. This role is key in driving efficiencies for Keypath’s operational teams and optimizing the student experience. The software engineer will provide development, integration, and maintenance of software applications in a Microsoft-centric environment. This role is pivotal in supporting and customizing core systems, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality custom software solutions that align with the strategic goals of the organization. Responsibilities: Complete development tasks related to assigned projects involving the customization and integration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other core systems. Ensure the delivery of high-quality software, customizations, and integrations. Provide hands-on development and technical expertise across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements hand-off to deployment and support. Collaborate with Keypath’s product management team to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Work closely with Keypath’s enterprise architecture team to ensure adherence to architectural standards and security best practices. Develop solutions using modern Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure Functions, SQL Databases, Queues, and Log Analytics. Implement standard security structures and engineering best practices in Azure, including use of Key Vaults, Managed Identity, secure network endpoints, and role-based access controls. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper technical and privacy/security governance requirements are met. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Qualifications Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, computer engineering, IT, a related field of study, or equivalent experience. Experience: 4+ years of software development experience with a proven history of launching successful custom development solutions. Strong background in architecture, design, and hands-on coding and configuration using Microsoft technologies, including Azure, SQL, .NET framework, and C#. Experience developing solutions using third-party Software Development Kits and cloud-based APIs. Experience developing solutions and integrating with Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred. Experience in the higher education and post-secondary education sector preferred. Skills & Competencies: Solid understanding of the SDLC using Agile Methodologies. Proficient in Microsoft-centric development and skilled working with Microsoft SDLC management tools and technologies including Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git. Knowledge of design patterns and development experience with .NET framework, Microsoft Azure, and related tools. Skilled in hands-on coding and configuration using Microsoft technologies, including Azure, SQL, .NET framework, and C#. Solid database development experience with SQL Server including T-SQL, stored procedures, and user-defined functions. Competent in Web development technologies – Web Services, JSON, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, React, and other commonly used JavaScript libraries and frameworks. Must exhibit fluency in software development concepts including Software Design Patterns, Caching, Concurrency, Security, and Relational Databases. Excellent communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Commitment to maintaining high security and architectural standards. Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities, capable of learning new technologies quickly. Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously. About The Role

Support the (Senior) Application Manager in carrying out initiatives aligned with the Digital Solution strategy. Manage a specific solution area, including its technology roadmap, and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key technologies.

Deliver solutions based on design principles that focus on flexibility and modularity. Lead strategic projects as the TECH representative, responsible for the full application delivery lifecycle.

Work closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, Project Managers, Infrastructure teams, and other SMEs to ensure smooth and successful implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • IT Application Management
  • Lead the development, design, and implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing systems and software packages.
  • Ensure effective delivery with cost efficiency and quality, maximizing IT investment benefits.
  • Define and execute action plans to support IT strategy through structured planning, established methodologies, and appropriate resourcing to meet project timelines.
  • Oversee and enforce adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software quality standards.
  • Align system delivery with the Enterprise Architecture framework for optimal performance and scalability.
  • Ensure application availability and timely resolution of system issues.
  • Resource & Team Management
  • Plan and optimize resource allocation to meet business demands efficiently.
  • Coach and mentor team members to build technical capabilities and support career development.
  • Drive team performance in alignment with divisional and company-wide strategies.
  • Design
  • Own and manage a portfolio of solutions, ensuring scalable and high-performance architecture and design.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Lead the design and development of new applications and system enhancements.
  • Serve as the technical lead for major and complex projects that contribute to business growth.
  • Development
  • Develop software code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct unit and system integration testing (SIT) before user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support and resolve issues during UAT.
  • Provide second-level production and incident support in collaboration with first-level support teams.
  • Scale of Projects/Systems Handled
  • Handle regulatory projects, including portal enhancements based on Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements.
  • Lead medium to high-complexity projects as the technical lead, accountable for end-to-end application delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with vendors and infrastructure teams to ensure successful project execution.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web, mobile app, or technical product management.

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of the product management lifecycle and best practices in web and application development.
  • Proven ability to translate digital innovation and vision into practical, hands-on solutions within existing constraints.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with various development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and a solid grasp of common software development practices.

Technical Proficiency (Preferred)

  • Programming & Scripting:
    • JavaScript / TypeScript – Strong proficiency in ES6+ features and modern JS patterns.
    • HTML5 / CSS3 / SCSS – Deep understanding of semantic markup, responsive design, and styling best practices.
    • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, and WebSockets.
  • Frameworks & Tools: Git, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines – for version control and deployment.
  • Integration & Services: Web services (JSON, SOAP), API Gateway, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), BPM.
  • Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase.
  • DevOps & Cloud: DevSecOps, Cloud Computing-Cloud Native Framework,

Purpose of Role

A software tester is responsible for evaluating software applications to ensure they function properly, meet specified requirements, and are free of bugs or defects. The software tester works closely with developers, focusing on building business solutions that support business requirements of the customer and web-based applications. Their primary objective is to validate the software's quality and performance before it is delivered to end users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Write, design, and execute test plans, including creating test scenarios and detailed test scripts manually, then upload them to automation tools.
  2. Conduct meetings with business users to review test scenarios for a better understanding of project scope and business requirements.
  3. Design test plans for System Integration Testing (SIT) activities based on defined testing scopes.
  4. Execute both SIT and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for internal technology initiatives.
  5. Work with the customer’s system developers and vendors to ensure readiness of test environments.
  6. Verify that the functionality of applications and systems aligns with customer requirements.
  7. Prepare test data manually or using automation tools.
  8. Conduct various testing types, including stress, performance, functional, regression, and scalability testing.
  9. Compile and summarize variance reports.
  10. Monitor bug fixing progress and compile testing artifacts.
  11. Work towards departmental and project deadlines.
  12. Conduct quality assurance activities.
  13. Provide objective feedback to the customer’s development teams.
  14. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  15. Collaborate with business analysts, users, testers, and developers to investigate testing issues.
  16. Conduct walkthrough sessions for relevant stakeholders.
  17. Prepare 'to-be' documentation during SIT.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the customer.
  19. Deliverables include test script sign-off documents, SIT test plans and results, UAT sign-off documents, and testing reports.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; fresh graduates or those with about one year of experience are encouraged to apply.
  2. Experience in test scenario development, test plans, test cases, and preparing/loading test data.
  3. Experience in the financial industry is an advantage.
  4. Certification related to testing, such as CTFL, is a plus.
  5. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and ability to write SQL queries.
  6. Experience with test management tools like JIRA and HPQC is advantageous.
  7. Experience with API and web service testing.
  8. Knowledge of various testing types, including functional, boundary, exception, penetration, integration, system, and regression testing.
  9. Ability to work effectively with team members across departments and levels.
  10. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage multiple projects in high-pressure environments.
  12. Willingness to learn new technologies and handle tasks with minimal supervision.

About The Role

Support the (Senior) Application Manager in carrying out initiatives aligned with the Digital Solution strategy. Manage a specific solution area, including its technology roadmap, and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key technologies.

Deliver solutions based on design principles that focus on flexibility and modularity. Lead strategic projects as the TECH representative, responsible for the full application delivery lifecycle.

Work closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, Project Managers, Infrastructure teams, and other SMEs to ensure smooth and successful implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities

IT Application Management Lead the development, design, and implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing systems and software packages. Ensure effective delivery with cost efficiency and quality, maximizing IT investment benefits. Define and execute action plans to support IT strategy through structured planning, established methodologies, and appropriate resourcing to meet project timelines. Oversee and enforce adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software quality standards. Align system delivery with the Enterprise Architecture framework for optimal performance and scalability. Ensure application availability and timely resolution of system issues. Resource & Team Management Plan and optimize resource allocation to meet business demands efficiently. Coach and mentor team members to build technical capabilities and support career development. Drive team performance in alignment with divisional and company-wide strategies. Design Own and manage a portfolio of solutions, ensuring scalable and high-performance architecture and design. Translate business and functional requirements into effective system solutions. Lead the design and development of new applications and system enhancements. Serve as the technical lead for major and complex projects that contribute to business growth. Development Develop software code following best practices and coding standards. Conduct unit and system integration testing (SIT) before user acceptance testing (UAT). Support and resolve issues during UAT. Provide second-level production and incident support in collaboration with first-level support teams. Scale of Projects/Systems Handled Handle regulatory projects, including portal enhancements based on Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements. Lead medium to high-complexity projects as the technical lead, accountable for end-to-end application delivery. Collaborate closely with vendors and infrastructure teams to ensure successful project execution.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web, mobile app, or technical product management.

Core Competencies

Strong understanding of the product management lifecycle and best practices in web and application development. Proven ability to translate digital innovation and vision into practical, hands-on solutions within existing constraints. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. Familiarity with various development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and a solid grasp of common software development practices.

Technical Proficiency (Preferred)

Programming & Scripting: JavaScript / TypeScript – Strong proficiency in ES6+ features and modern JS patterns. HTML5 / CSS3 / SCSS – Deep understanding of semantic markup, responsive design, and styling best practices. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, and WebSockets. Frameworks & Tools: Git, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines – for version control and deployment. Integration & Services: Web services (JSON, SOAP), API Gateway, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), BPM. Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase. DevOps & Cloud: DevSecOps, Cloud Computing-Cloud Native Framework, File Transfer & Automation: MFT, SFTP

Purpose of Role

A software tester is responsible for evaluating software applications to ensure they function properly, meet specified requirements, and are free of bugs or defects. The software tester works closely with developers, focusing on building business solutions that support business requirements of the customer and web-based applications. Their primary objective is to validate the software's quality and performance before it is delivered to end users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Write, design, and execute test plans, including creating test scenarios and detailed test scripts manually, then upload them to automation tools.

Conduct meetings with business users to review test scenarios for a better understanding of project scope and business requirements.

Design test plans for System Integration Testing (SIT) activities based on defined testing scopes.

Execute both SIT and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for internal technology initiatives.

Work with the customer’s system developers and vendors to ensure readiness of test environments.

Verify that the functionality of applications and systems aligns with customer requirements.

Prepare test data manually or using automation tools.

Conduct various testing types, including stress, performance, functional, regression, and scalability testing.

Compile and summarize variance reports.

Monitor bug fixing progress and compile testing artifacts.

Work towards departmental and project deadlines.

Conduct quality assurance activities.

Provide objective feedback to the customer’s development teams.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Collaborate with business analysts, users, testers, and developers to investigate testing issues.

Conduct walkthrough sessions for relevant stakeholders.

Prepare 'to-be' documentation during SIT.

Perform other duties as assigned by the customer.

Deliverables include test script sign-off documents, SIT test plans and results, UAT sign-off documents, and testing reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; fresh graduates or those with about one year of experience are encouraged to apply.

Experience in test scenario development, test plans, test cases, and preparing/loading test data.

Experience in the financial industry is an advantage.

Certification related to testing, such as CTFL, is a plus.

Familiarity with Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and ability to write SQL queries.

Experience with test management tools like JIRA and HPQC is advantageous.

Experience with API and web service testing.

Knowledge of various testing types, including functional, boundary, exception, penetration, integration, system, and regression testing.

Ability to work effectively with team members across departments and levels.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage multiple projects in high-pressure environments.

Willingness to learn new technologies and handle tasks with minimal supervision.

Strong debugging skills and ability to manage teams across different countries.
