In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, modeling, and optimizing the thermal performance of compute systems to ensure efficient heat dissipation and reliable operation under high-performance workloads. Responsibilities
Conduct CFD simulations to evaluate airflow, heat transfer, and overall thermal performance of compute trays and rack systems. Analyze thermal behavior at both component and system levels to identify hot spots and airflow inefficiencies. Propose design optimizations to improve cooling efficiency and system reliability. Work closely with system, mechanical, and firmware engineers to define thermal design requirements and performance thresholds. Recommend thermal solutions including heatsinks, fan configurations, liquid cooling, or hybrid systems. Ensure thermal designs meet targets for reliability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Support lab testing and validation of thermal models using temperature sensors, airflow measurements, and other instrumentation. Correlate simulation results with physical measurements to fine-tune models and improve accuracy. Deliver detailed test reports and feedback to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing design improvements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including simulation models, reports, and thermal design guidelines.
