Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic to join our Slickline Division team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting a wide range of equipment, ensuring operational readiness both onshore and offshore.
This position will be based in Labuan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance & Operation
- Perform minor and major maintenance for equipment backloaded from location.
- Diagnose and repair various equipment, including power pack units, reel skid units, wireline mast units, and air compressor units.
- Ensure equipment is in good condition, well-equipped with tools, and properly certified before mobilization.
- Monitor equipment readiness and ensure client expectations and schedules are met.
- Implement preventive maintenance and provide technical support to managers/team leads.
- Act as a flying mechanic to support offshore operations when required.
2. Communication
- Accurately report operational issues or difficulties to Team Leads/Managers.
- Participate in investigations and follow up on findings both offshore and in warehouses.
- Maintain clear communication with the team regarding equipment/system performance, updating relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients to understand needs and communicate urgent requests or deadlines to management.
3. Documentation
- Prepare and maintain equipment records (certificates, reports, movement logs, load-out/backload tracking).
- Originate and maintain checklists for equipment.
- Document problem investigations and ensure proper filing for future reference.
4. Inventory
- Maintain in-house inventory of equipment and spare parts.
- Raise material requisitions and follow up on deliveries.
- Ensure accurate tracking of company assets both offshore and onshore (accessories, consumables, spares).
5. Quality & Certification
- Ensure equipment certifications are accurate, up to date, and renewed on time.
- Liaise with third parties for inspections and certifications.
- Conduct QAQC checks before equipment load-out/backload, ensuring compliance with standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum Certificate or Diploma in relevant engineering/technical field.
- At least 2 years of working experience. Past experience in oil & gas will be an advantage.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with QAQC standards and preventive maintenance practices.

- Diagnoses mechanical system and equipment problems
- Conducts routine mechanical system and equipment inspections and tests as required to ensure plant is operating within specified parameters

- Have bolting and rigging certifications as desire.
- Must have Driver’s License
