Duties

Background

Candidates should have 8+ years' experience in either Network, Storage or Server products.

Candidates should have the following essential qualifications and experience:

  • At least BEng. (Hons.) in Electronics or similar
  • Strong electrical design and debug skills required
  • Familiar with PCIe, NVMe, SAS, SATA, I2C, SPI, DDR buses
  • SDRAM timing and integrity analysis for clocks, strobes, S&H, Power bounce, temp stability
  • Hands-on design knowledge of latest peripheral chipsets for Gigabit Ethernet, SCSI, SATA, SAS, USB, Ethernet, & PCI cards etc.
  • High performance RISC / X86 CPUs and architecture including Intel, AMD, MRVL
  • Proficient in using various test and measurement equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscope, Impedance analyzer, Power meter, Signal analyzer, Spectrum analyzer
  • Qualify alternative components for compatibility, cost effectiveness and benchmarking

The Senior Lead Engineer, Electrical Design develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. The primary role of this position is PCB layout design, with a secondary responsibility to develop test programs to evaluate and characterize prototype hardware within the product development team. Summary Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions in two or more technical areas. Lead smaller projects and coordinate with other engineers, including reviews of their work.
  • Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct research, analysis, and experiments with minimal guidance from senior staff.
  • Create technical proposals (solutions and timelines) based on requirements.
  • Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs, e.g., creation of schematics, bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
  • Test, simulate, and measure (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems.
  • Stay updated with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
  • Solve complex problems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Analyze and interpret data and information.
  • Recommend modifications for systems.
  • Create reports and documentation.

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognised expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
  • Review, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
  • Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.

  • Prepare calculations on the proposed solution before completing technical drawings

  • Submit drawings to management, engineering teams and customers for review.
