The Network & Application Security Solution & Engineer will leverage his/her development, security, and architecture experience to mitigate risk and enable security controls for both application and network environments using innovative solutions. The person is responsible for solutioning and engineering for application and network environment related deployments, ensuring the flexibility of solution integration to cover on-premises infrastructure and Cloud without high overhead.

Accountabilities

• Lead in the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex computer network security/protection technologies for the Bank’s IT application and network environments.
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize robust, scalable, highly automated, and secure technical solutions in support of the Bank’s IT application and network environments.
• Create scripts, employ tools, develop automation techniques, and pursue ideas to increase manageability, efficiency, compliance, capability, capacity, and security of devices.
• Create comprehensive engineering documentation including functional requirements, design proposals, network diagrams, workflow diagrams, application communications diagrams, configuration documents, support documentation, training materials, and project documents.
• Ensure that security is embedded in the design and development process, from testing to deployment in the cloud, and strategically guard against existing or emerging threats.
• Develop automation and supporting infrastructure to enable increased agility and consumption of cloud resources, including creating and maintaining build scripts, templates, and other artifacts for the security stack.
• Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting complex security-related challenges.
• Assess business processes, technology, and information systems at various levels to understand risk posture, apply critical thinking, determine security models, and co-design systems with enterprise architecture.

Job Requirements

• Proven track record supporting information security tools and processes such as patch management, SIEM, UBA, Web Application Security testing, SSO, Email Security Gateways, malware management, web filtering, firewalls, proxies, APT analysis, IDS/IPS, DLP, HIDS/HIPS, network access control, threat and vulnerability management.
• Understanding and practical experience with internal certificate authorities, Microsoft DNS, Active Directory design/architecture and security, data loss/leak prevention, and multifactor authentication.
• Knowledge of network design, encryption/PKI, mobile security, network security technologies, vulnerability management, wireless security, and mobile device management.
• Knowledge of encryption algorithms, secure communications, SSL, PKI.
• Experience with Cloud Security and networking (Azure, AWS).
• Broad understanding of emerging technologies, trends, and their applicability.
• Ability to define effective information security standards tailored to specific environments.

We are seeking a Information security Engineering specialist to help empower our security experts and software engineers in building secure applications, automations, and infrastructure. In this role, you’ll support the development and enforcement of security standards across cloud, infrastructure, and data platforms, while promoting secure design principles and automation.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uncover and remediate vulnerabilities, guide secure architecture decisions, and ensure consistent alignment with security best practices and business goals. Staying ahead of industry and technology trends, you will help fortify bp’s cybersecurity strategy and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain platform security standards; identify opportunities to automate secure practices throughout the infrastructure lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to embed security into product design and delivery while ensuring compliance with business requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert in at least one of the following domains: cloud security, infrastructure security, or data protection.
• Provide hands-on guidance to engineering teams for secure configuration and issue remediation.
• Align technical strategies and decision-making across teams and contribute to broader security governance.
• Participate in and promote an inclusive, collaborative working environment with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the evolution of the security roadmap to address future risks and requirements.

Get to know the role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering Team. You will be reporting to Senior Engineering Manager, Devsecops. We believe you have cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, integration, and development skills. This role is required because we are expanding our regional infrastructure security capabilities. In return, you will work with a great team working on complex architectures and managing cloud security of one of the largest cloud deployments in the region.

This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design, implement, and maintain a secure and reliable infrastructure platform for delivering Grab Services
• You will improve, maintain and operate security toolings such as EDR, CNAPP, Vulnerability scanners and Code Security Scanners.
• You will develop security automation solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• You will collaborate with teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD pipelines.
• You will manage and ensure that internal and external SLA's meet and Security Engineering centric KPIs are monitored and improved.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have experience developing and maintaining production systems/ applications on any public cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• You have programming skills in one of the languages (preferably GoLang or Python)
• You have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 2+ years of security industry experience using web/mobile application security and knowledge of the security / threat landscape.
• You have an ability to perform automation using Terraform/Ansible/Chef/Puppet, Docker/Kubernetes, and any one CI tools (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab, Travis CI)
• You have experienced in vulnerability management, patching automation, and understanding of VA/PT techniques
• You have demonstrated proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines in platforms such as GitLab and Jenkins.
• You have experience in the cybersecurity domain, along with relevant security certifications (such as AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, CEH), would be a significant advantage.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform You will design, implement, and maintain a secure and reliable infrastructure platform for delivering Grab Services You will improve, maintain and operate security toolings such as EDR, CNAPP, Vulnerability scanners and Code Security Scanners. You will develop security automation solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability. You will collaborate with teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD pipelines. You will manage and ensure that internal and external SLA's meet and Security Engineering centric KPIs are monitored and improved. What Essential Skills You Will Need You have experience developing and maintaining production systems/ applications on any public cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP) You have programming skills in one of the languages (preferably GoLang or Python) You have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 2+ years of security industry experience using web/mobile application security and knowledge of the security / threat landscape. You have an ability to perform automation using Terraform/Ansible/Chef/Puppet, Docker/Kubernetes, and any one CI tools (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab, Travis CI) You have experienced in vulnerability management, patching automation, and understanding of VA/PT techniques You have demonstrated proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines in platforms such as GitLab and Jenkins. You have experience in the cybersecurity domain, along with relevant security certifications (such as AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, CEH), would be a significant advantage.
