As a Manager - Laboratory Operations Support at B. Braun you will play a vital role in….

Your key responsibilities:

  • Implement the organization’s strategy by managing activities in order to solve problems; improve or generate new operational or equipment systems; and install and commission new or replacement processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of a group of executives, engineers and technicians, whose activities may include define detailed maintenance methodology, calibration activities; setting-up laboratory test equipment; SAP PM data; management laboratory equipment and common system to minimize laboratory downtime and interruptions.
  • Lead complex, controversial, or significant projects; evaluate findings; and prepare detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions, to achieve the organization goals and objectives. Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to implement the organization’s annual goals and monitor the performance of projects to ensure targets are met.
  • Select and manage ongoing relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Introduce and develop the integration of new technology into the current lab processes to increase productivity, cost effectiveness, quality of work and enhance the capability of the team.
  • Lead the establishment of objectives, policies, standards and strategies in operational support best practices. Support in the development, modification, verification and validation of test method. Hold the authority in approval of Test Report, IMS document, Quality Reports (CAPA, NCIR), Document Template,Validation Plan and Report, IMTE RA report, obsolete test equipment and jigs.
  • Have the authority and resources to implement, maintain and improve the management system, identify deviations from the management system or from the procedures for performing laboratory activities, initiate actions to prevent or minimize deviations, report to laboratory management on the performance of the management system and any need for improvement, and ensure the effectiveness of laboratory activities. Ensure laboratory operation and projects are compliance to specification and relevant standard regulations, as well as ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 13485 and FDA quality system requirements.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor Degree in technical with hands-on experience managing day-to-day lab test equipment, calibration, maintenance, and validation.
  • Providing technical guidance on lab instruments, methods, and procedures in physical testing and supervising lab technicians or support staff. Managing service contracts, negotiating with suppliers, or services provider. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance knowledge. Experience with ISO 13485, ISO 17025, GLP, GMP, or CLIA standards will be desired.
  • Experience in introducing and developing the integration of new technology into lab processes to increase productivity, cost effectiveness, quality of work and enhance the capability of the team

BRC is an AAALAC International accredited and bizSAFE Level 3 certified laboratory animal facility established in Biopolis in 2005, as a service facility under Biomedical Sciences Institutes. Its mission is to provide high quality research animal services to support the vibrant research culture for biological and biomedical sciences, in order to support the development of biotechnology for the human healthcare industry in Singapore.

Reporting to a supervisor, the successful candidate will work in a team to support operations in a laboratory animal facility according to standards and established workflows in BRC.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with large equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain cleaning and sanitization standards in the facility.
  • Work is carried out in an environment with animal dander, waste and dust.
  • Expected to uphold safety practices and procedures in the facility such as wearing of scrubs and PPE. (including masks)
  • Assist in duties such as laundry and housekeeping.

Requirements:

  • Preferably a National ITE Certificate with at least 3 year of experience working in a laboratory animal facility.
  • Training will be provided for candidates without prior experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently and have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required to lift 18kg bags of bedding and pull trolleys 2m in height.

Purpose of the post

A key focus of the Core Support Faculty is to promote the careers and productivity of junior investigators (both clinician scientists and translationally-focused basic scientists). Key deliverables for the role will be the rapid generation of high-impact publications, the rapid receipt of competitive grant funding, a rapid increase in the uptake of higher research degree candidacies (especially PhDs), the provision of technical training to the Department, and the support of clinical trials.

The successful applicant will report to the Director of Research, and work closely with a range of junior investigators from a broad cross-section of obstetric and gynaecological disciplines. The Successful applicant will be expected to work closely with senior members of the Department, including Visiting Professors. The successful applicant for this role will be expected to work closely with the other Core Support Faculty members, establishing a strong team working environment with productivity, collaboration and service as key operating parameters.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be responsible for:

  1. Oversee the general management of delegated projects;
  2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to delegated projects, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites and other stakeholders;
  3. Undertake the day to day running of the project(s) at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites, recruitment, data collection, sample collection and management at hospital(s);
  4. Conduct literature searches, using SPSS to enter data, and analyse data and maintain trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project;
  5. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
  6. Manage ethical submissions and on-going compliance, including PDPA;
  7. Play a support role in the drafting of papers and funding applications;
  8. Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively while supporting multiple projects across the department;
  9. Coordinate grants related to Clinical Research and other types of research;
  10. Provide logistics and administrative support;
  11. Assist with any other duties that are delegated by the PI or supervisors.
Qualifications

The successful applicant should:

  1. have a Bachelor’s degree in science-related field, nursing or equivalent; CRC experience (with demonstrated track record of supporting successful studies) will be a strong advantage;
  2. be able to work meticulously, independently and as a team player;
  3. good understanding of GCP, familiarity with research-based principles; and
  4. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, PowerPoint;

Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd employs over 340 staff across various departments including Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Warehouse.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring prompt and accurate testing, correction, and documentation of production batches, and assisting the QC Supervisor, QC Chemist, or Manager.

  • Conduct product testing according to specifications within production deadlines.
  • Test raw materials as per test methods and QC standards.
  • Assist production as needed.
  • Prepare and update documentation of test results.
  • Prepare samples for Sales & Marketing.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices in the laboratory.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor project progress and report to immediate superior.
  • Propose alternatives for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO documentation (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

  2. Keep formulation details confidential.
Qualifications

Minimum high school certificate / SPM with relevant laboratory experience.

Additional Information
  • Laboratory testing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
