About CenTRALThe VIVA–NUS Centre for Translational Research in Acute Leukaemia (CenTRAL) is dedicated to improving cure rates for children with blood cancers in Singapore and across the region through cutting-edge clinical research and regional outreach programmes .
We conduct multi-centre clinical trials that require molecular diagnostic testing for both pre-screening patient eligibility and monitoring treatment response . These actionable molecular laboratory tests are essential for guiding treatment decisions, as detailed in our trial protocols. Our clinical laboratory services are licensed under the Ministry of Health (MOH) Healthcare Services Act – Clinical Laboratory Services.
Beyond clinical trials, CenTRAL also provides these diagnostic services to patients outside trial enrolment and runs outreach programmes across the region, ensuring more children gain access to life-saving diagnostics. We also operate a satellite tissue bank —with informed patient consent—to store leftover cells for future research, in compliance with the Human Tissue Framework under the Human Biomedical Research umbrella.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our dynamic team. You will support clinical trials and research studies with direct impact on patient care, contributing to our mission of delivering transformative medicine for childhood cancers.

- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, specialising in Molecular Cell Biology or Biomedical Sciences, with good honours.
- Experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory preferred; candidates with no experience but strong interest are welcome (on-the-job training provided).
