The Opportunity
Level B Teaching Fellows are expected to make solid contributions to teaching and learning within their school. Position Description
Teaching Fellow
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Contribute to the School in terms of education quality, OBE and accreditation matters
- Contribute to the curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, especially during the off-semester periods
- Work closely with the School’s Education Management Office (EMO) for efficient education-related statistics gathering and student progress tracking, especially during the off-semester periods
- Contribute to the management of education and/or administration in the School, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management, where relevant
- Contribute to academic service responsibilities, including contributing to outcomes of the discipline and/or school meetings and/or internal committees
- Contribute to the development of strong collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive excellence and impact of education and student experience
Key Selection Criteria:
- A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent
- A strong record of successful and innovative curriculum development
- An outstanding record of teaching which demonstrates a commitment to educational innovation
- Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and leadership
- Ability to promote the discipline internally within the university as well as externally, both nationally and internationally
- Eligible to register with the MBOT as a Professional Technologist

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a related field (required).
Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science curriculum is highly desirable.
Strong programming knowledge, preferably in Python.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Passion for technology and education.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Data Science Manager to lead and grow our Data Science team. As a Data Science Manager, you will be at the forefront of transforming data into actionable intelligence. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of data professionals to solve complex business problems using data-driven solutions that influence strategic decisions across the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, operations, and compliance to drive innovation and ensure the successful delivery of analytics initiatives.
This role requires not only strong technical skills in data science but also solid leadership, project management capabilities, and a collaborative mindset. Experience in agile development, sprint planning, and Jira will be highly valuable as you’ll help manage the team’s workflow and maintain high operational efficiency. A background in data product management and software engineering is a plus, enabling you to bridge technical execution with business needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts, developers and engineers to execute projects from ideation to deployment.
- Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning algorithms, data science platforms and statistical analyses.
- Manage project timelines, sprint cycles, and backlog prioritization using agile methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with various other business units in the organization, engaging in their daily operations to comprehend existing processes, with the intention of enhancing operational efficiency within those business units.
- Ensure proper data governance, model validation, and documentation standards are followed.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
- Evaluate and adopt the latest tools, technologies, and frameworks to maintain a modern data science stack.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science, programming and FinTech industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or experience in related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in data science with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or lead role.
- Strong proficiency in Python & R, SQL, and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight).
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful data projects that influence business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment.
- Experience with software engineering practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with agile project management, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and using tools such as Jira or Trello.
- Proven experience as a Data Product Manager or working closely with product teams to shape data products and solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of managing timelines, stakeholders, and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description- Own Data Science solutions for client requests and provide initial recommendations for complex client raised issues.
- Support Internal and External Clients with the understanding of Data Science design and methodology.
- Accompanied senior leaders meet with clients to understand business needs and help offer innovative solutions.
- Work on creating new solutions use cases, proof of concept and prototypes by exploring diverse data sets using tools such as Python.
- Understand Nielsen products and services to suggest new solutions for client challenges.
- Collaborate with other Data Science team units.
- Automate and develop solutions for existing processes.
- Innovate and create out of the box solutions by leveraging large and diverse data sets and state of the art technologies.
About you
You’ve dabbled in data. You’ve perused Python. And you have the communication chops to translate it all into conversation or presentations. While you’ve worked with global cross-functional teams, you can also put your head down and focus on independent projects. Seeing the big picture takes attention to detail. You know what’s happening in big data and you’re ready to influence what’s next.
Qualifications
- Professionals with degrees (either Bachelor/Master) in Maths, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields involving statistical analysis of large data sets.
- Fresh grad / 1 year of experience in market research or relevant fields, however, open for fresh graduate.
- Intermediate levels proficiency with Python
- Implementation experiences on automation of processes
- Problem-Solving skills
- Ability to effectively convey complex concepts to non-experts
- Intellectual curiosity and persistence to find answers to questions
- Eager to continuously learn and adapt to changing technologies and tools.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Good collaborative and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels.
- Working knowledge with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI)
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Machine Learning /Web scrapping
- Working knowledge with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBi) and mapping tools.
- Up to date with technology and active user of eCommerce platforms
- Familiarity with Atlassian, Git, Bitbucket and Confluence
- Familiarity with marketing analytics, including designing experiments and consumer behavior analysis.
