We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our commercial team. Objectives

As an SDR at Abi, you will play a crucial role in fuelling our commercial growth by generating and nurturing outbound opportunities. You will also support broader sales and marketing initiatives, working closely with our Business Development and Marketing teams to ensure seamless execution and reporting.

  • Execute outbound outreach campaigns (email, LinkedIn, and other channels) to generate initial engagement
  • Warm up leads before passing them to the Business Development team for follow-up
  • Track and report progress on outreach campaigns, providing metrics and insights on performance
  • Maintain clean and up-to-date data in HubSpot CRM
  • Support ad-hoc sales and marketing initiatives including HubSpot audits, award submissions, conference booking paperwork, social posts/engagement, and inbound inbox triage

Tasks

  • Organize, launch, and monitor multi-step outbound campaigns

You’ll be the first point of contact for potential customers, handling inbound calls, answering inquiries, and conducting discovery calls to qualify leads. In addition to setting appointments for our sales associates, you’ll assist with preliminary solar designs and proposal preparation. No prior solar experience is required, but we’re looking for someone who enjoys speaking with people, can handle rejections gracefully, and has 1-2 years of sales or customer service experience.

This role offers the chance to develop key skills in customer relationship management, sales processes, and cross-functional collaboration, while working closely with a mission-driven team in a growing industry.

  • Fielding and managing all inbound calls and messages
  • Conducting discovery and qualification calls to identify top-of-funnel leads
  • Pitching Rent-to-Own solar offers and driving conversions to advisory calls
  • Assisting in the preparation of rooftop solar designs and proposals for potential clients
  • Managing appointment scheduling for sales associates to conduct advisory calls or site surveys with clients
  • Supporting the sales team with new initiatives to enhance the sales process and improve customer experience
  • Handling ad-hoc projects as needed to support the team
Your Credentials
  • Minimum Diploma or higher
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales or customer service, ideally in a phone-based role
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets)
  • Fluent or proficient in English and Bahasa Melayu; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable handling challenges and rejections with persistence and patience
  • Organised, able to multi-task, and manage priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Motivated, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a growing team
