Job Description
You will follow and implement all operational security procedures within the hotel by oversight of all contractors, suppliers or vendors working on property. You will protect all guest and staff areas of the hotel from unauthorized access or intruders and to keep the security and hotel senior management informed on all matters relating to the Security aspects of the hotel on a daily basis.

  • Certified in Security by local Security authority
  • One year operating experience in a hotel Security department
  • Has knowledge in firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors and basic knowledge of occupational health and safety.

Job Description

As Safety & Security Manager , you will lead and spearhead all these initiatives below as mentioned. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara Desaru Coast Resort &Villas' team members always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Ensure the effective implementation of all operational security procedures within the hotel.
  • Management and security oversight of all contractors, suppliers or vendors working on property.
  • To maintain a close dialogue and relationship with local security authorities.
  • Ensure that security officers provide a courteous and professional service to all customers, staff, vendors and suppliers.
  • To monitor the car-park system and ensure its smooth running and security
  • To vet the daily functions and VIP arrival list and to ensure that security officers are deployed as appropriate
  • To account for the master keys of the property and their movements as well as key control in general.
  • To keep the hotel senior management informed on all matters relating to the Security aspects of the hotel on a daily basis.
  • Review and suggest adjustment to process based on current/future environments.

Incident/Emergency Handling

  • Incidents and Emergencies are emotionally charged situation, particularly when there are allegations of theft. All guests, staff or other people involved must be dealt with sensitively and professionally so as not to inflame the situation.
  • To professionally conduct full inquiries and follow-up activities for all security related incidents.
  • As required, to carry out formal searches on employees, locker rooms and place of work as directed by hotel management, with the presence of Human Resources Executive as a witness. All people interviewed or searched are to be presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
  • To organize the Security Fire Fighting Team in the event of an emergency.

Safety Function

  • Lead to uphold safety laws and regulations in Malaysia, create a safe work environment, and prevent job-related incidents at the hotel/resort. This includes conducting safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and executing preventive measures.
  • Train and inspire team members to follow our company's occupational health and safety protocols. Be responsible for investigating work-related incidents and injuries, providing comprehensive reports, and suggesting preventative actions.
  • Additional duties involve gathering safety statistics, preparing reports, and carrying out other safety tasks.

Qualifications

  • Certified in Security and Safety Management
  • Has experience in managing firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors and knowledge of occupational health and safety.
  • Five years operating experience in a hotel Security department including but not limited in handling various emergencies and issues that can arise in relation to hotel security, and is able to advise management on all security matters.

The Safety & Security Manager is responsible support the hotel in respect of occupational health & food safety, fire safety, crisis management
and disability compliance. The role involves the provision of advice and support for the protection of the company's owned and managed assets and to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and company policies related to all safety and security disciplines. The role requires a risk-based approach in terms of allocation of resources whether this be through specialist training, general operational support, auditing, accident investigation and involvement with local enforcement officials on statutory routine inspections.
**What will I be doing?**
As the Safety & Security Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
-Prepare departmental fire and safety rules, standard operation procedures of hotel CCTV.
- Responsible for the entire fire system equipment operations of the hotel.
- Report to General Manager as well as regional Safety and Security team promptly upon receiving questionable queries.
- Organize training activities for fire prevention, evacuation knowledge and fire equipment standard operation for all hotel team members according to their various positions.
- Work with the Engineering department to standardize the hotel fire system and equipment operations.
- Prepare the inspection standard for the hotel fire system and equipment.
- Organize the training for fire equipment maintenance, maintenance record and fixed-point operation inspection for fire control centre team members.
- Follow up regularly to adjust and upgrade the performance of fire prevention regulations.
- According to fire prevention characteristic, make sure the major fire prevention department or places, in addition, take part in fire prevention regulations and sage operation regulations.
- Organize trainings and fire drills for hotel team members, for fire and evacuation emergency plans
- Create fire and safety filing systems according to the local municipal regulations.
- Collect, analyze and study hotel fire cases to improve the hotel's fire system.
- Equip fire team members with the knowledge of fire equipment standard operating procedures and maintain faulty equipment.
- Organize job responsibility training for control and security team members
- Oversee team members' performance appraisals to improve work performance.
- Responsible for handling emergency accidents appropriately.
- Attend regular operational meetings to review, monitor, adjust and update the performance of the department as a whole.
- Check daily on-duty records; being well informed of the recorded information and hotel major machine room situations controlled by Fire Control Centre.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying risks and proactively plan the Industrial Hygiene program.
  • Coordinate relevant activities as a management representative, such as daily toolbox/pre-shift meetings and site management.

  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices aligned with organizational IH control practices and programs.
  • Facilitate EHS induction and other training mainly on Industrial Hygiene for relevant suppliers and contractors.
  • Arrange, facilitate, and track IH training for JLL employees.
  • Assist in IH incident investigations alongside line and facility staff.
  • Provide accurate injury/illness reports, manage related data, perform trend analysis, and report statistics to the EHS Site Manager.
  • Organize safety audits, conduct line walks (SMBWA), communicate observations, and monitor closure of action items.
  • Track local EHS regulations, assess applications, and communicate implementation to stakeholders.
  • Participate in standard audits (ISO, RBA, etc.) as required.
  • Conduct Industrial Hygiene assessments (air quality, illumination, noise, heat, oxygen deficiency) to ensure compliance.
  • Propose and lead programs to protect employee health and implement ergonomics initiatives.
  • Conduct regular program audits, implement corrective actions, and suspend operations if necessary.
  • Advise on workers' compensation claims related to workplace exposures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or relevant field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian guidelines and legislation (e.g., Noise, IAQ).
  • HT1/HT2 DOSH registered competency required.
  • Additional competency in IAQ & Confined Space is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Good verbal communication skills and proficiency in English business writing.
  • Presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and good coordination skills.
  • Own transportation is preferred.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

Assist in identifying risks and proactively plan the Industrial Hygiene program.

Coordinate relevant activities as a management representative, such as daily toolbox/pre-shift meetings and site management.

Review, develop, and enforce IH-related procedures in response to customer requirements, company policies, and applicable laws/regulations.

Advise and collaborate with site management to resolve occupational health issues.

Create and execute studies to monitor and assess employees' exposure to health risks and evaluate the effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures.

Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices aligned with organizational IH control practices and programs.

Facilitate EHS induction and other training mainly on Industrial Hygiene for relevant suppliers and contractors.

Arrange, facilitate, and track IH training for JLL employees.

Assist in IH incident investigations alongside line and facility staff.

Provide accurate injury/illness reports, manage related data, perform trend analysis, and report statistics to the EHS Site Manager.

Organize safety audits, conduct line walks (SMBWA), communicate observations, and monitor closure of action items.

Track local EHS regulations, assess applications, and communicate implementation to stakeholders.

Participate in standard audits (ISO, RBA, etc.) as required.

Conduct Industrial Hygiene assessments (air quality, illumination, noise, heat, oxygen deficiency) to ensure compliance.

Propose and lead programs to protect employee health and implement ergonomics initiatives.

Conduct regular program audits, implement corrective actions, and suspend operations if necessary.

Advise on workers' compensation claims related to workplace exposures.

Maintain current knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or relevant field.

3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge of Malaysian guidelines and legislation (e.g., Noise, IAQ).

HT1/HT2 DOSH registered competency required.

Additional competency in IAQ & Confined Space is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

Good verbal communication skills and proficiency in English business writing.

Presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and good coordination skills.

Own transportation is preferred.

Job Description

This job is about promoting a safe workplace through health, safety, security, and environment programs. You might like this job because you’ll conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and help create a culture where everyone feels secure at work.

Responsible for supporting Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and ISO standards, conducting inspections and investigations, and promoting a safe workplace culture across the Supply Chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with HSSE team on the measures to be taken in the interests of the safety and health of the persons employed in the place of work.
  • Conduct inspections at the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliances or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work.
  • Involve in investigation of any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which has happened in the place of work.
  • Be part of the safety and health committee meetings and programs.
  • Assist safety and health committee in any inspection of the place of work for the purposes of checking the effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with the Act or any regulations made under the Act
  • Assist in collection, analysis and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning and occupational disease which have occurred at the place of work.
  • Assists to issues work permits, safety induction and basic health/safety communications.
  • Assist HSSE team to compile all relevant regulation reporting and submission of accidents report, statistics and etc.
  • Attend to any accident, injury, incident & etc which relate to health & safety in the plant
  • Compile the near misses weekly and prepare report to update the status of progress
  • Draft procedure/Work Instruction/SOP etc relate to health & safety management system.
  • Maintain all Health Safety & Environment (HSE) manual as required by the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 system
  • Maintain and update legal register to meet country regulations.
  • Involve in the department Health and Safety Committee.
  • Be a trained First Aider and maintaining, inspection and advising all department on their first aides facilities in the plant including updating name of First aider list.
  • Ensure all HSE policies, manuals, documents are updated in all relevant departments
  • Enforce HSSE rules at site to employees, contractors and visitor.
  • Ensure the daily HSSE details are update for communication purpose.
Job Requirements
  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree or professional certificate in any field, preferably Health and Safety
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge in safety would be added advantage.
  • 1-2 years relevant working experience preferred.
  • Knowledge ISO 14001 & ISO45001 would be added advantages.
  • Creative thinker and good team player.
  • Work independently and display initiative in coordinating and completing activities.
