Overview
Responsible for leading the strategic direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive workplace safety and health programs across the Bank. This role ensures enterprise-wide workplace compliance with regulatory requirements, embeds a culture of safety and well-being, and integrates safety strategies into operational risk management frameworks. The AVP is accountable for driving proactive workplace risk mitigation, audits, and training initiatives, and serving as advisor to senior leadership on matters of occupational health and safety, while aligning with the Bank’s business continuity and ESG objectives.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Health Physician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees through preventive care, health surveillance, and management of work-related illnesses and injuries. Based in Kuala Lumpur office; Reporting to Malaysia Occupational Health Manager What you will do
Support occupational health needs of 1200+ in-country office-based personnel (including global travel health; fitness for duty evaluations related to entry to field operating sites; return to work assessments; medical absence and disability case management). This role also comprises remote clinical operations hub support to locations outside of Malaysia. Suitable for mid-career professionals seeking opportunity to grow and mature within a global organization. About you
Skills and Qualifications Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution and postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health / Occupational Medicine. Full Registration with the Malaysian Medical Council. Possess at minimum a valid Occupational Health Doctor (OHD) certification from NIOSH Malaysia. Other postgraduate Occupational Health/Occupational Medicine qualifications may be considered. Preferably 5 years’ experience or more practicing Occupational Health after attainment of postgraduate qualification. Strong clinical skills and broad experience in various medical disciplines. Highly articulate with excellent command of written and spoken English. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience with supporting cases remotely by telehealth is an advantage. Time flexibility and ability to work within a global time zone environment. Preferred Skills Prior corporate or high-risk industries (e.g., oil & gas, manufacturing, construction) experience Additional certifications (e.g., Audiometry, Spirometry, OGUK, OGSP). Health Consultation and Medical Advisory Provide advice and consultation on medical issues faced by company employees and contractors, including expatriates requiring special or controlled medication unavailable in Malaysia. Support and advise on medical referrals on a case-by-case basis. Provide updates and guidance on emerging or ongoing public health matters, including but not limited to outbreaks, pandemic preparedness, and occupational disease trends. Support and conduct health talks, awareness campaigns, and wellness programs as required by company.
Medical Surveillance and Program Evaluation Review results of health surveillance programs, identify areas of concern, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders for corrective action. Ensure that all health surveillance and medical assessment programs are designed and implemented satisfactorily and remain fit for purpose. Support on-site health assessment and health campaign activities when required.
Representation and Coordination with Authorities Represent company in meetings with relevant government bodies and health authorities, either independently or in conjunction with the company HSE team.
Medical Testing and Facility Evaluation Coordinate and arrange for medical examinations to be conducted at any approved company AME clinics in Malaysia or Thailand. Conduct and manage on-site Drug and Alcohol Testing at company worksites. Conduct and manage on-site Medical Facility Assessments to ensure adequacy and compliance with company standards.

Requirements
Certified in Occupational Health Doctor, with additional competence or training in Travel Health Medicine. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience providing occupational health services / advisory within the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. Recognized as an Approved Medical Examiner (AME) by either PETRONAS or PTTEP, with valid and current approval status at the time of proposal submission.
