Position: Safety Officer (Green Book)

Location: Solaris Mont' Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, FMA 1967, and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP).
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
  • Support emergency response planning and coordinate evacuation drills.
  • Foster a strong safety culture through leadership and active promotion of safe work practices.

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Green Book and registered with DOSH as a Safety & Health Officer.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally with a main contractor on large-scale construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with workers and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in preparing safety reports, documentation, and audit records.
  • Able to work independently and manage responsibilities under site conditions.
  • Willingness to work on-site and on a rotation schedule based on project requirements.

Remuneration Package:

  • Basic Salary: RM6,000 – RM7,000
  • EPF, SOCSO, EIS contributions
  • 1 year contract role, renewable based on projects needs.

Position Summary

Senior Manager Group Safety Compliance & Quality Assurance is accountable for the effective design and delivery of the compliance and quality assurance program in Malaysia Aviation Group, ensuring it meets both external (regulatory and industry) and internal requirements within all AMG operational units. Key Accountability

  • Conduct auditing services as required and under any Operations Services Agreement and Service Appendix Provision, for MAG's Airline and AVS entities.
  • Ensure the Group's audit programs are delivered on schedule and within the limitations of its scope
  • Implement a corporate governance structure that supports a culture where the senior management of the airline and aviation services are aware of the results of the audit programs, and are both engaged and committed to improve the result of any undesirable trends.
  • Coordinating and maintaining the relevant Airlines' IOSA Programmer including Security elements
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining Operations Compliance/Quality Assurance systems including system design, redevelopment and implementation. This includes the implementation of a GSCQA compliance / quality audit procedures, programme and support of departmental compliance / quality assurance programmes through regular Group Safety Quality Meetings with the MAG Airlines /AVS compliance / Quality representatives.
  • Act as Lead Auditor and /or Auditor for Corporate level internal compliance / QA Audit as per qualification level, contributing the number of audits as assigned by Head GSS to meet the company, regulatory or IOSA requirements

  • Dissemination of information to management and non-management operational personnel as appropriate to ensure an organisation awareness of relevant quality assurance is send and results.

Minimum Qualifications -

  8. Undertakes impact assessments for any new HSS legislation and industry Codes of Practice / Standards where they could impact LEGOLAND Malaysia.

  9. Helps ensure alignment to relevant ISO management standards.

  10. Ensures the effective management of ride, fire and food risks (and other core risks) at LEGOLAND Malaysia in conjunction with other members of the leadership team.

  11. Drives the focus on culture change in LEGOLAND Malaysia through the 'Protecting the Magic' campaign and initiatives which reinforce the Group's HSS vision, strategy and culture.

  12. Provides relevant and meaningful Management Information on achievements of HSS objectives in LEGOLAND Malaysia against agreed KPI's to monitor progress against targeted improvements.

  13. Presenting and reporting upon HSS performance, issues and concepts at LEGOLAND Malaysia's senior leaderships meetings.

  14. Proactively support the development and execution of Group-wide HSS programmes and standards, as required, particularly as they relate to LEGOLAND Parks.

  15. To liaise with Heads of Department to identify safety training needs and ensure that safety training programmes undertaken reflect the needs of the business and the delegates involved.

  16. Liaise with appropriate enforcement bodies and ensure that the requisite HSS standards are followed in respect of new projects/attractions both in terms of design/operation and project management.

  17. On behalf of LEGOLAND Malaysia, liaise with appropriate enforcement bodies in their follow-up to any incidents or issues as they relate to incidents, near-misses, compliance or complaints.

  18. Responsible for the development of new HSS training programmes for LEGOLAND Malaysia.

  19. Delivers appropriate HSS training, with specific focus on Train the Trainer arrangements.

  20. Identifies and liaises with 3rd party training establishments and/or training accreditation bodies.

  21. Oversees the setting of HSS competency / training requirements for LEGOLAND Malaysia.

  22. Produces management information in relation to HSS training courses required, training courses completed and delta sizes.

  23. Develop and implement cost effective HSS management/accident prevention strategies to control direct and indirect costs arising from work related accidents and ill health involving guests, employees and contractors.

  24. Interpret and apply HSS law pragmatically in the context of the LEGOLAND Malaysia organisation and relevant industry standards.

  25. Develop and maintain specific HSS management plans/programmes for significant risk topics to ensure, as far as is possible, compliance with all relevant legislative requirements and industry best practice.

  26. To establish organisational systems and risk control methods relating to hardware and human performance by advising LEGOLAND Malaysia line management on matters such as legal and technical standards.

  27. Acts as the local reference point for the utilisation and functionality of chosen HSS IT systems and applications (inc. tablet utilisation).

  28. Ensure the development of HSS programmes within any budgetary constraints specified.

  29. Ensure HSS colleagues/representatives are appointed (where required), appropriately trained, co-ordinated and line managed. Arrange and chair relevant HSS committee meetings and attend employee forums where necessary.

Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
