Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust EHS programs that ensure a safe, compliant, and sustainable work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify hazards and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Lead and manage ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification processes, including implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements.
- Design and deliver EHS training programs to employees and management to drive safety awareness and compliance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports with preventive recommendations.
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operations and planning.
- Review technical drawings and schematics to verify compliance with EHS standards.
- Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, and reports in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and training materials using Microsoft Office applications.
- Act as the EHS executive representative for company's property management, overseeing all safety-related matters.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by superiors and regional FE managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental, Electrical, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of EHS management experience in an industrial environment.
- Valid Registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book) certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of national EHS laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and teams to achieve EHS objectives.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English for daily communication and reporting.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience in EHS management system implementation and certification.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated ability to design training programs, operational guidelines, and procedural documents.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
