The Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of all retail marketing activities, including planning, budgeting, execution, and continuous improvement to drive retail sales. This role will also lead and supervise the Designers team in producing high quality marketing materials, while ensuring effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Planning & Calendar Management
- Develop and manage the annual retail trade calendar
- Plan, strategize, and evaluate retail marketing activations, identifying opportunities for improvement
Campaign & Promotion Management
- Lead the Retail Marketing team in executing strategic retail promotions, campaigns, events, and advertising initiatives with precision and efficiency
- Develop in-store marketing strategies and point-of-sale materials to enhance the customer shopping experience
- Ensure annual sales targets are met through tactical and data-driven marketing strategies
Collaboration & Partnerships
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to develop impactful marketing strategies
- Identify opportunities for brand visibility through partnerships and joint marketing initiatives
Budget & Performance Management
- Manage the A&P budget to maximize ROI
- Monitor, analyse, and report on campaign performance, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement
Operational & Team Leadership
- Oversee multiple divisions, including mall marketing, mailroom, and design & creative teams
- Manage day-to-day operational and administrative functions to ensure seamless execution of marketing activities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve departmental goals
Other Responsibilities
- Handle ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned by Line Manager or/and Management
- Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or a related field
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in marketing, preferably within the sports retail industry
- Strong understanding of promotional activities, mall events, and retail activations
- Keen eye for effective design and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with high numerical accuracy
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills
- Exceptional communication and coordination skills
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Job Description
The Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of all retail marketing activities, including planning, budgeting, execution, and continuous improvement to drive retail sales. We are seeking a hands-on and performance-driven Retail Assistant Marketing Manager to lead, support and execute strategic and tactical marketing initiatives across our retail outlet network. Acting as a vital link between HQ and the field, this role is responsible for translating marketing strategies into impactful on-ground executions tailored to outlet needs and performance levels.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, understands local market dynamics, and is passionate about data-informed decision-making, campaign planning and execution, and driving retail-level results.
Key Responsibilities
1.Retail Marketing Execution & Oversight
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns across national, cluster or outlet levels — including grand openings, local activations and rejuvenation efforts for underperforming outlets.
- Conduct outlet visits to support, observe and ensure high-quality campaign execution aligned with brand and operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations team to ensure outlet staff are well-briefed and actively supporting campaign rollouts with ongoing monitoring.
- Outlet Performance Monitoring & Local Strategy
- Monitor outlet performance and identify opportunities to drive traffic, engagement and revenue.
- Develop targeted data-informed strategies and activations tailored to local needs.
- Proactively refine or adjust campaign plans when performance falls short of targets.
- Stay updated on local market dynamics and competitor activity.
3.Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with key stakeholders, the Retail Marketing Manager, the broader marketing team and cross-functional teams to plan, adapt and execute campaigns.
- Coordinate with creative and media agencies to produce campaign materials and content.
- Provide timely on-ground insights to refine messaging and targeting strategies.
4.Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track and report campaign effectiveness across outlets on a consistent basis.
- Support post-campaign reviews with performance insights and actionable recommendations.
- Oversee internal coordination to ensure timely delivery of campaign data and reports.
5.Retail Calendar & Local Opportunities
- Maintain visibility over outlet-level calendars, campaign timelines and key promotional moments.
- Identify and support relevant local marketing opportunities — including community events and partnerships — to enhance brand visibility and customer connection.
Experience Required
- 5–7 years of experience in marketing with at least 3 years in a retail outlet-focused or field marketing role.
- Proven track record in campaign execution, performance monitoring and local activations.
- Experience in multi-location retail or service-based environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with digital marketing including social media, CRM and content is an advantage.
- Willing to travel occasionally and spend time on-site at retail outlets as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field.
- Strong understanding of retail operations and outlet-level marketing.
- Excellent coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical and proactive in using performance data to inform decisions.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.

What You Will Achieve
- Develop calendar for each channel and retailer with strategic differentiation aligned to consumer profile by leveraging CRM data to inform channel decisions. Manage all retailer activities and negotiate with Malls nationally ensuring all advertising and printed collateral maintains Brand standards/guidelines. Develop, execute, and conduct post-mortem on channel specific promotions to win in key moments and BAU.
- Organise and execute incremental business building pop ups, events and promotions with our retailers and other external partners. Plus, track and measure impacts.
- Closely monitor competitor activity including advertising, sampling, store literature, launch, and promotional activities.
- Ensure we're always growing ahead of the channel to increase our share.
- Act as the conduit for all aspects of marketing within that channel but bring in consumer marketing and product marketing experts when needed.
