Job Description
- Design, develop, and implement medium and high voltage electrical systems for various applications, such as power grids or power plants.
- Review and create detailed high and medium voltage substation and switchyard primary design and other technical documentation.
- Perform calculations substation earthing, insulation coordination, equipment steel structure, conductor and cable calculations.
- Prepare cable list and core termination diagram.
- Select and specify appropriate substation equipment, including power transformers, circuit breaker, disconnector switches, switchgears, neutral earthing resistor, cables, cable joints connectors and accessories.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations when working with high voltage equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and regulations.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of high voltage electrical principles, circuit theory, and power systems.
- Experience with AUTOCAD software or switchyard primary design CAD software .
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE, and UL.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in specific applications, such as power grids, power plants and substations.
- knowledge in specific medium and high voltage substation switchyard design, products and substation ancillary equipment.
- Experience with field testing and commissioning of medium and high voltage systems.
- Certification in high voltage safety practices.
Additional Notes:
- Familiar with TNB requirement will be added advantage

As part of the Energy Solutions team, you will ensure the project engineering activities of C&I projects in Malaysia including system design drawing preparation, process engineering improvement and implementation.
JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES- Perform pre-engineering designs for solar projects based on industry standards and client requirements.
- Review, comment and/or revise client exhibit documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Design solar projects and oversee layout drafting in AutoCAD, perform energy modelling using PVsyst and finalize preliminary design packages for bid submission.
- Work with the project management team and engineering team to finalize designs for submission to clients.
- Work with clients to respond to their questions and explain design options.
- Develop the work methodology and schedule.
- Perform site survey to capture structural information of roof, building, electrical etc.

- Liaise with SEDA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and TNB for solar related matters.
- Support sales and marketing team on technical presentation.
- Communicate with suppliers to improve costing and product offering.
- Degree in electrical/power engineering, a Master will be an advantage.
