Solarvest EE is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to drive the company's growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities in the energy efficiency sector. This role is essential in expanding our client base, building strong relationships, and promoting tailored energy efficiency (EE) solutions across industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
- Identify and engage potential clients across industries, including manufacturing, municipalities, and commercial sectors
- Develop a pipeline of qualified leads through market research, networking, and outreach initiatives
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits to showcase Solarvest EE's offerings and benefits
- Proposal Development & Sales Support
- Collaborate with the technical team to craft customized proposals and presentations that address client needs
- Effectively communicate the value of energy efficiency solutions
- Support pricing strategies, ROI analysis, and financial justifications to assist client decision-making
- Market Research & Business Strategy
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activities to uncover new opportunities
- Provide valuable insights to refine Solarvest EE's sales and marketing strategies
- Identify and propose new market segments or sectors for potential expansion
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing clients
- Act as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process
- Gather client feedback and collaborate with internal teams to enhance Solarvest EE's offerings
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand their energy goals, address their concerns, and provide regular updates on project status and performance
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue growth
- Track and report sales activities, client engagements, and KPIs to optimize performance
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles (preferably in the energy or sustainability sector)
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency solutions or a keen willingness to learn
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage client relationships effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation and negotiation abilities

Job responsibility:
Under the responsibility of the Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia Operations Manager, the Sustainable Building and Industry / Energy Efficiency Engineer participates in the company's projects in South-East Asia, with a focus on industrial facilities and covers the following main tasks:
Building Simulations
Prepare building simulations through the use of professional software tools, such as:
Preliminary and detailed building energy models (DesignBuilder, IES-VE)
Computational fluid dynamics simulations (DesignBuilder, Ansys) to assess indoor operating conditions for occupant health, safety, and comfort and process conditions;
Data analytics in support of several types of technical studies.
Technical Studies
Building envelope and MEP systems evaluation for greenfield and brownfield projects with specific building performance and construction budget goals
Energy audit services requiring performance impact estimates of proposed energy efficiency measures in existing buildings
Monitoring-based commissioning services requiring data visualization to spot faulty operations in HVAC operational trends
Low carbon consultancy services combining operational and embodied carbon footprint evaluation, and associated environmental impact-lowering measures
Project Reports and Communication
Review plans, documentation, and contractor submittals for compliance with requirements
Complete construction field visits to review progress, verify compliance with goals, and solve field issues
Perform on-site energy audits for existing facilities
Identify, present and discuss performance improvement options meetings with clients
Prepare logically organized, technically accurate, and clearly presented emails, memos and reports
Learn best-practice fundamentals and implementation strategies for high-performance building enclosures, mechanical and plumbing systems, zero energy features, low-carbon materials, etc.
Grow into a project management role, acting as the main point of contact for clients, tracking schedules and deliverables, producing or delegating as needed to get the work done, and integrating a diverse array of knowledge to provide insightful information to clients.
Requirements
Academic Background and Professional Experience
Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) / Master of Science (M.S.) or equivalent education in Mechanical, Electrical, or related majors
4-5 years of energy efficiency or related mechanical engineering professional experience (previous building simulation, energy auditing, commissioning and industrial facilities experience preferred)
Skills
Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and principles; including HVAC, lighting, motors, fluids, heat transfer, and heat recovery (pinch method)
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems
Experience with ASHRAE energy audits
Knowledge of energy management practices, familiarity with ISO 50001 standard
Understanding of green building certification schemes (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark, GBI, etc.) is appreciated
Abilities
Technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and integrate new concepts and tools
Strong writing, verbal communication, interpersonal, training, and analytical skills
Strong judgment and critical thinking to challenge assumptions and solve problems
Strong organizational and project management skills Software

Job Description
- Lead and support environmental aspect of environmental and social (E&S) feasibility studies for energy sector projects (natural gas, LNG to Power, biomass, Waste to Energy, wind, solar, hybrid, etc.) and potential other sectors e.g. infrastructure.
- Lead and support environmental and social due diligence studies for energy sector projects and potential other sectors.
- Lead and support as lenders environmental and social advisor during the construction and operation of energy sector projects and potential other sectors, including supporting consultations with Project Affected Persons and other stakeholders in Malaysia.
- Perform the role as Project Manager for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and the development E&S Management Plans. Provide guidance on environmental matters, including regulatory E&S requirements during the ESIA process.
- Support Clients to develop and implement Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
- Contribute to business development by providing strategic advice on environmental and social issues to existing and potential clients, including the preparation of marketing material.
- Preparation of proposals (technical and financial) for environmental social services.
- Support other AFRY E&S staff in the region and contribute to work outside of the region when opportunities arise.
- Enforce ethics and compliance in accordance with AFRY Code of Conduct.
Qualifications

- 8+ years’ experience in environmental consulting / management.

Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of experience in the renewable or traditional energy sector, or power generation industry, with exposure to domestic and/or international markets. Familiarity with ASEAN or Malaysian electricity markets, policies, standards, and regulations is an advantage.
Strong command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Demonstrates international mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proactive, diligent, and collaborative team player.

The new role :
- Marketing Leadership – Solar Industry
- Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to promote solar energy solutions, including PV systems, BIPV, and solar leasing.
- Enhance brand positioning through public relations, digital campaigns, and participation in renewable energy events.
- Manage digital marketing initiatives (SEO, SEM, social media) and content development to drive lead generation and customer engagement.
- Conduct market intelligence to monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and new market opportunities within Malaysia’s solar sector.
- Sales & Business Development
- Lead the sales team to achieve revenue goals across various solar segments (commercial, industrial, utility-scale).
- Identify, pursue, and secure high-impact business opportunities such as government tenders, corporate PPAs, and solar farm projects.
- Establish and grow strategic relationships with developers, EPCs, and financial institutions.
- Develop effective pricing models, manage sales pipelines, and lead contract negotiations for solar projects.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with technical, operations, and finance teams to assess project viability and ensure profitability.
- Mentor and lead the marketing and sales teams to foster a results-driven, collaborative work environment.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting marketing and sales strategies to optimize outcomes.
- Regulatory Compliance & Innovation
- Ensure marketing and sales practices comply with relevant solar policies and incentives (e.g., NEM, FiT, tax benefits).
- Drive product innovation based on market needs, including integration of technologies like energy storage and EV charging.
- Reporting & Strategy
- Deliver regular reports on sales forecasts, ROI analysis, and market expansion strategies to senior management.
Requirements:
- University degree in Marketing/Business/Management/Engineering or equivalent
- Required Languages: English and Malay; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in corporate sales, key accounts, or related fields.
- Experience in logistics, FMCG, or food and beverage industries is advantageous.
- Experience in Logistics/Warehouse industries is an advantage.
- Excellent commercial and communication skills.
- Proactive and positive approach to customers internally and externally.
- Strong mathematical/statistical and presentation skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint & Excel).
- Capable of utilizing Business Intelligence tools.
