Basic purpose of the position

This position provides Technical and Quality Engineering support in NPD and Mass production, and directly interfaces with suppliers on routine quality operations. Implement the defined quality work processes; derive and implement the detailed quality work procedures, assess and monitor supplier performance and drive for continuous improvement.

  • Drive and implement the detailed quality work procedures, with due alignment with BU Quality team and suppliers
  • Prepare quality KPIs, monitor and review suppliers performance and drive on continuous improvement
  • Quality engineering support in NPD covering PFMEA, Control Plan and Manufacturing Readiness Review
  • QE support after Mass Production and Technical back up to QC team
  • Lead and resolve production and field quality incidents with RCA / 8D / SCAR
  • Identify supplier development needs, with plan, action and review
  • Quality training to upgrade the quality competence of self, QC, QE and suppliers
  • Close interaction and regular review with BU Quality teams to achieve business needs
Qualifications
  • More than 10 years relevant experience in quality or engineering
  • Experience in supplier management / development
  • Product experience in electrical appliances, electronics or consumer products
  • Effective problem solving, root cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change
  • Experience on team management and people competency development
  • Ability to work in highly competing industrial environment, with strong desire to WIN
  • Ability to drive and lead changes

This includes visual & dimensional evaluations, functional testing as applicable and packaging & labeling verification. The Quality Specialist will work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure clear and accurate communication of inspection results and opportunities for improvement of the product and inspection processes.Responsibilities:• Conduct onsite pre-shipment inspections at local facilities and/ or abroad when required• Perform product and process audits, as requested, on items manufactured by the supplier• Conduct finished goods (out of box) product inspections as required• Provide timely, detailed reports and photographic evidence of product, packaging, labeling, defects noted, etc. for all product or pre-shipment inspections performed• Document inspection activities by completing reports and logs• Perform audits on supplier inspections to ensure supplier compliance with documented QMS and product quality controls• Collaborate with (Sr.) Supplier Quality Engineers to facilitate necessary quality improvements within supplier environments• Request and facilitate the review and follow-up of corrective actions taken to resolve any product defects identified during product audits and inspections• Work with global cross-functional teams within YETI and ensure stakeholders are involved with supplier quality and development• Perform other duties as assignedQualifications and Attributes:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or related degree (e.g., Mechanical, Textile, Material Science)• 0-2 years of working experience in supplier quality inspection within a global environment• Must be fluent in English with excellent written and communication skills, local language is a norm• Must have experience using manual inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers, angle/ height gages, etc.)• Must have ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material lists and inspection standards• An additional advantage if familiar with common international certifications (ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO22000 etc.) and related quality tools and methodologies, including FMEAs, Control Plans, SPC & Control Charts and DMAIC, A3 and 8D• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with the following processes (PPAP, SPC, Pareto, 5W, Is/ Is Not, Fishbone)• Working knowledge of various Microsoft office and conferencing apps including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.• Previous experience conducting process and product audits• Ability to work well in independent and group problem-solving situations• Effective communication skills, intense sense of urgency and must be willing to take initiative to drive for solutions• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through• Must be able to meet deadlines within a global environment and able to work independently with minimal supervision• Strong teamwork with ability to collaborate within global environments where teams may be dispersed• Successful candidate must be willing to travel domestically and internationally to supplier locations and work onsiteYETI is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.**Benefits & Perks:**Click

The Quality Specialist will be responsible for conducting quality control inspections of in-process and pre-shipment products at local facilities. This includes visual & dimensional evaluations, functional testing as applicable and packaging & labeling verification. The Quality Specialist will work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure clear and accurate communication of inspection results and opportunities for improvement of the product and inspection processes.

Responsibilities
