We are hiring a QA Automation Engineer in Malaysia for exciting software product development. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge in test cases, automation testing tools, experience in DB queries, and basic knowledge of cloud services.
Responsibilities- Being part of one of our product or scrum teams and actively participating to the delivery of top-notch quality software.
- Ensuring that every change is thoroughly tested before being released to our production systems.
- Leverage automation tools (primarily with Tricentis Tosca), extensive knowledge bases and documentation.
- Drive and execute test planning, design, automation, execution and releases of API microservices offerings.
- Integrate automated scripts into CI/CD workflows for test execution quality gate.
- Report defects and perform risk analysis with actionable recommendations.
- Mentor developers in their day-to-day tasks and support their professional development.
- Technical Skills: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or another technical-related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years in automation testing with a focus on web UI and backend API (3+ years for intermediate level).
- Understanding of Software Testing methodologies and test automation frameworks; experience with Tricentis Tosca is an advantage.
- Practical experience in Agile Software Development methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe Agile is an advantage.
- Ability to integrate AI use cases into testing workflows.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Familiar with AWS core services and capabilities (e.g., API Gateways, Identity Management).
- Frontend Testing: Proficiency in Java, Selenium WebDriver.
- Backend Testing: Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia, RestAssured). Experience with Tricentis Tosca is a plus.
- Performance: Gatling, JMeter.
- Frameworks: Knowledge of TestNG, JUnit and BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
- Build Tools: Maven or Gradle.

- Design, develop, and implement test automation frameworks from scratch using Cypress. Implement it in CI/CD pipelines using GitLab is a bonus.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or similar solutions, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Automate the API testing using Newman or other solutions is a bonus.
- Develop and document detailed test plans / test cases / test scripts, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

What you’ll be doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and execute test strategies for new features, integrations, and updates to Splyt’s software products.
- Write and automate test cases, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and effective testing across web and mobile platforms.
- Conduct integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure seamless functionality after changes or additions.
- Actively participate in the design, development, and review of software, providing technical insights that align with best QA practices.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to identify areas of improvement, prevent bugs, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Analyze software defects, document findings, and communicate issues effectively to the development team to drive quick resolution.
- Support new partner integrations, ensuring that system functionality is optimized and fully operational with external systems.
- Influence product development and architecture with a focus on quality and efficiency, making a direct impact on product reliability.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- At least 2 years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on QA or software development related quality assurance experience.
- Strong experience in developing and executing test strategies for web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency in writing and automating test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
- Experience with testing REST APIs and other communication methods.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and processes, with an ability to translate those practices into software engineering processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
Preferred:
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Cypress).
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools.
