(Apply Now) The Corporate Events & Stakeholder Engagement Officer plays a vital role in advancing Curtin Malaysia’s strategic objectives by planning and delivering impactful, brand-aligned corporate events and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The role is focused on enhancing Curtin’s public image, supporting its leadership in civic, educational, and sustainability domains, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. The incumbent will also support initiatives aligned with Curtin Malaysia’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and State Government priorities, while fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including the government agencies, community groups, industry, and alumni. The role involves producing high-quality content across multiple platforms and coordinating efforts to highlight the institution’s impact and leadership in education and community service. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Event Management Plan, coordinate, and deliver high-profile corporate and civic events that enhance Curtin Malaysia’s prestige, influence, and visibility. Ensure event execution complies with cultural protocols, institutional branding, and stakeholder expectations. Design and deliver events that align with Curtin’s strategic themes, including education, research, sustainability, and strategic partnerships. Provide expert support and advice on events hosted by other university units to ensure consistency in quality and branding. Identify and pursue media opportunities, sponsorships, influencer collaborations, for successful events. 2. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building Cultivate strong, strategic relationships with government bodies, industry partners, NGOs, alumni, and community groups to support engagement and collaboration through events. Coordinate invitations, guest management, and VIP protocol, including liaising with government agencies for dignitary attendance. Contribute to strengthening Curtin Malaysia’s role as a civic and community leader by delivering inclusive and accessible event experiences. Host campus tours for visitors, showcasing the university's facilities and strengths. 3. Community Engagement & Impact Support the design and implementation of community-focused initiatives and events that align with Curtin Malaysia’s social impact agenda. Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to foster goodwill and mutual benefit. Collaborate with other areas of the university to promote inclusive community participation and ensure reciprocal benefits in all outreach efforts. Serve as a liaison between the university and the community, ensuring clear communication and advocating for community interests. Track and evaluate community engagement outcomes to measure impact, improve future initiatives, and ensure alignment with SDG-related goals. 4. Communications Campaigns & PR Initiatives Prepare engaging speeches, event scripts, briefing notes, and other communications that reinforce Curtin Malaysia’s vision and leadership. Liaise with the media and marketing teams to ensure consistent public messaging and media coverage of strategic events. Curate high-quality visual and multimedia content from events for promotional and archival purposes. Collaborate with the marketing team to assess audience behaviour and data insights to create targeted communication strategies. Oversee event photography and videography to ensure high-quality content for use in event communications and marketing. 5. Strategic Alignment and Brand Positioning Ensure all events and engagement activities reflect Curtin’s brand values, institutional narrative, and strategic goals. Align event themes and programming with government policy priorities and regional development plans where relevant. Contribute to strategic reporting, benchmarking, and best practice development in university event management. About You A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field. At least 2 years’ experience in event management, stakeholder engagement, or public relations, preferably in the higher education or public sector. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute high-impact, protocol-sensitive events with diverse stakeholder groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing speeches, event briefs, and promotional content. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and cultivate relationships. Strong understanding of branding, strategic communications, and audience engagement. Experience working with community organisations, government agencies, and corporate partners. Excellent organisational and time-management skills with a detail-oriented, proactive approach. Familiarity with photography, videography, and digital tools for content creation and promotion. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Creative problem-solving abilities with a focus on strategic thinking. Experience within the higher education sector and knowledge of higher education policies and community engagement frameworks. Familiarity with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and government development agendas. Knowledge and experience in social paid marketing and social media engagement. Working knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and media editing software. Fluency in additional languages (Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Indigenous languages) considered an asset. Key Responsibilities *

Sustainability Strategy

  • Support the development and implementation of CIMB’s medium- and long-term sustainability strategies and plans, aligning with CIMB’s corporate strategy and guidance from the Board and EXCO. Assist in translating strategic ambitions into actionable plans that remain responsive to external factors, supported by clear implementation roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring processes.
  • Assist in CIMB’s annual sustainability planning, prioritisation, and target-setting processes across all regions and Group entities
  • Support the execution of strategic sustainability initiatives , contributing to project management, tracking, and interdepartmental coordination the Group while assisting in programme governance and reporting to support transparency and accountability.
  • Assist in the coordination and governance of Group-wide sustainability decision-making through Board-level and management-level committees, supporting alignment and documentation of key decisions.
  • Support the monitoring of developments in sustainability and sustainable finance and preparation of updates and analysis to inform the Group’s strategic direction and priorities.
  • Support CIMB’s participation in external sustainability events, helping to prepare materials and updates that strengthen CIMB’s positioning on responsible finance and sustainability in the region.

Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy

  • Assist in the delivery of CIMB’s stakeholder engagement and advocacy initiatives to support the Group’s sustainability ambitions and responsible finance positioning
  • Support stakeholder mapping and relationship management efforts with all stakeholders in alignment with CIMB’s sustainability objectives.
  • Assist in the execution of CIMB’s external sustainability positioning , including supporting communications across channels to align with CIMB’s sustainability strategy and commitments. Support flagship initiatives such as The Cooler Earth and Sustainability Investor Day, and assist in responding to stakeholder requests, including rating assessments, materiality exercises, and disclosure-related queries.
  • Support sustainability disclosure processes , including assisting in annual reporting, regulatory compliance (e.g., IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, TNFD), and the tracking of performance against sustainability benchmarks.
  • Contribute to internal sustainability engagement initiatives through supporting internal communications and change management activities to encourage a purpose-driven culture aligned with CIMB’s sustainability roadmap and core purpose of “advancing customers and society.” Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to support initiatives under the CIMB Sustainability Academy that build sustainability awareness and integration across functions.
  • Support governance of CIMB’s sustainability communications and positioning , including assisting in the implementation of message governance protocols to mitigate reputational and greenwashing risks, and monitoring consistency between CIMB’s sustainability policies and those of external partners.

Key Dimension of Impact *

  • Maintain and strengthen CIMB’s standing as a sustainability leader in ASEAN, as measured by top-tier rankings in key global indices (e.g. S&P Global CSA, Sustainalytics, WWF SUSBA), and enhance investor perception of CIMB’s long-term sustainability credibility and performance.
  • Deliver high-quality disclosures and communications that strengthen brand, reputation, and stakeholder confidence—including among investors—while meeting regulatory expectations and share-of-voice targets. Safeguard credibility through robust governance of Sustainability messaging, greenwashing risk management, and alignment between internal practices and external advocacy.
  • Embed a purpose-driven culture centred on “advancing customers and society” across all functions, with measurable improvement in staff sustainability capabilities, leadership alignment, and daily decision-making.

Job Specification *

Qualifications

At least a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised institution, preferably financial or sustainability-related

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements

Not required, but a diploma or certificate in related to Environmental or Social issues would be beneficial

Between 1to 3years relevant working experience, preferably with project management and/or Sustainability role. Banking experience is a plus.

Required Competencies and Skills *

  • Ability to exercise strong judgement, possess good problem-solving and crisis management. skills, and ability to collaborate with functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience providing counsel to and collaborating closely with senior management and business functions to achieve the effective implementation of PR campaigns, driving brand awareness and reputation management.
  • Agency experience is a plus.

MAIN JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES As a Manager at Hexa-Communications, you will play an integral role in sustaining and enhancing client relationships, as well as contributing to business growth within your division. This role requires a focused approach in supporting client counsel, with an emphasis on meeting their marketing communication and business aims. You will be actively involved in guiding and working alongside teams to ensure the effective delivery of outstanding marketing communications programmes. Furthermore, the Manager will play a key role in supporting account growth and assisting in the acquisition of new client engagements.

Client service Deliver high-quality planning and execution of client projects. Act as a key contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and aligning with business goals. Build and maintain strong client relationships, coordinating effectively between clients and internal teams. Identify growth opportunities within existing client portfolios and assist in new business development. Participate in stakeholder analyses and keep a weekly track of client needs. Support team members with innovative approaches for addressing client issues.

Operational excellence Identify and communicate any client or project concerns to senior management as needed. Demonstrate competence in account management and strategic planning. Promptly address urgent client issues, either independently or with minimal senior oversight.

Flawless execution Motivate teams to produce work that exceeds client expectations and is measurable in impact. Develop creative and targeted materials for various audiences. Advise on integrated marketing strategies to achieve client goals, promoting comprehensive communications marketing engagement. Utilise audience insights to shape communication strategies, using all relevant channels and evaluating their effectiveness.

Talent development and team management Guide team members in task management and skill development for client success. Foster a culture of independent learning and provide necessary support. Engage in personal and professional development, pursuing opportunities for growth. Assist in team recruitment and hiring processes in collaboration with the Leadership Team.

Brand and business building Gain a deep understanding of client businesses, objectives, and market contexts. Maintain expertise in industry sectors, offering insights and advice to the team. Support pitch processes, contributing to strategy development and delivery. Work with senior management to advance the company's business goals. Explore growth opportunities within accounts and maintain a strong industry network. Participate in proactive new business research and identify potential collaborative ventures. Contribute to the marketing and branding efforts of Hexa-Communications, enhancing our market presence and role for clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in public relations or similar fields like advertising, marketing, or media. Demonstrated ability in building and managing client relationships. Experience with budget oversight and team service level management. Innovative and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills. Quick and accurate decision-making abilities, providing effective client counsel. Excellent team management and motivational skills. Collaborative and egalitarian in approach. Eager to share knowledge and experience to improve team performance. Entrepreneurial spirit, eager to embrace new opportunities. Ambitious and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

We are looking for a highly driven and motivated Public Relations Manager to join our team in Malaysia, overseeing a key reputation management function. Well-versed in stakeholder engagement and understanding of the media and regulatory landscape, this individual will play a crucial role in building brand love by unearthing engaging, unexpected stories from the business.

Key Responsibilities

Develop foodpanda Malaysia’s public relations strategy and uphold positive brand reputation across all stakeholder groups. Build relationships with key tier 1 media (broadcast, tech, lifestyle and trade) to ensure a consistent narrative is being communicated externally. Lead proactive storytelling, media pitches and policy comms campaigns to secure positive media placements focusing on foodpanda Malaysia’s mission. Manage crisis communication and develop response plans for potential issues. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify compelling stories and align communications metrics with business goals. Oversee and manage agencies to ensure alignment with business goals. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting as needed.

Qualifications

At least 6-8 years of demonstrated experience in leading PR and communications work, engaging a wide range of external stakeholders. A strong network of journalists focused on lifestyle and business space, with a keen understanding of various media channels and news cycles with proven success in achieving coverage across different media segments. Ability to exercise strong judgement, possess good problem-solving and crisis management. skills, and ability to collaborate with functional teams in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated experience providing counsel to and collaborating closely with senior management and business functions to achieve the effective implementation of PR campaigns, driving brand awareness and reputation management. Agency experience is a plus. A concise and clear communicator with written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
