We are looking for a highly strategic and results-driven Project Director to oversee the full project lifecycle of our large-scale data centre projects across the region. The successful candidate will be the single point of accountability for project execution, leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in few countries. With a strong MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) background, you will ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Accountability:
    • Act as the primary leader and single point of contact for all data centre projects under your portfolio, reporting directly to the General Manager.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and financial targets.
    • Provide overall project direction and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to commissioning and handover.
  • Stakeholder & Cross-Border Management:
    • Lead, coordinate, and motivate project teams across different geographical locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Serve as the key liaison between the project teams, senior management, clients, vendors, and external stakeholders.
    • Manage client expectations and ensure transparent communication on project progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Project Delivery & MEP Oversight:
    • Leverage deep MEP expertise to guide technical decisions, review designs, and resolve complex engineering challenges related to critical data centre systems (power distribution, cooling, fire protection, BMS).
    • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
    • Ensure all projects adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with local regulations and international best practices.
  • Financial & Contract Management:
    • Own the project P&L, responsible for budget development, cost control, forecasting, and ensuring profitability.
    • Approve major procurement and contracts, managing vendor and contractor performance effectively.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Risk Management & Reporting:
    • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across all sites.
    • Implement robust project controls and reporting mechanisms to provide accurate and timely updates to the General Manager and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree or PMP certification is highly advantageous.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 8 years in a Director-level or Senior Project Leadership role overseeing large-scale, complex construction projects.
  • Proven track record of managing the full lifecycle of data centre projects is essential .
  • Must possess a strong MEP background with the ability to understand and critique technical designs and solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing remote and international project teams is required. Experience with teams in Southeast Asia and Europe is a significant plus.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

**About the Job:**
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Project Manager to join us in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will manage complex projects within your assigned region to completion, from initiation through delivery to closure. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams and establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria, as well as define, monitor, and review all project economics including timeline, budget and risks. **What you will do:**
+ Integrate and use specific industry and technical delivery methodologies, e.g. project management methodologies based on PMI, Red Hat Services project management methodology, systems and software development, agile methodologies such as scrum
+ Drive project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for Red Hat Services projects with minimal direction
+ Manage multiple projects requirements, scope, timelines, regular customer cadence, while achieving utilisation.
+ Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria; develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plans
+ Proactively manage project requirements and scope/change request related to the project.
+ Develop and effectively present project related content to various stakeholders.
+ Plan, schedule, monitor and report project activities effectively.
+ Work closely with Resource Management Office to staff projects with the relevant consultants and architects, considering required skills and level of experience
+ Assist in training the project team on the application of appropriate procedures and processes; (coach and mentor lower level project managers)
+ Work with sales/pre-sales teams on project scope, estimates, and schedules; contribute to the project estimation and review process
**What you will bring:**
+ 7+ years of experience in a project management role in IT-based projects
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field
+ Knowledge of specific project management and technical delivery methodologies used in the IT industry
+ Solid interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills; business insight
+ Great written and verbal communication and negotiation skillsSolid organisational skills including attention to details and handling of multiple project concurrently
+ Technical knowledge and experience in Red Hat product portfolio will be an advantage
+ Excellent Customer facing and internal communication skills
+ Project management certification
+ Ability to work in a team as well as on your own; ability to motivate project team and individual contributors and mediate conflicts

**POSTING**
In this role, you will:
+ Coordinates work of a cross-functional team responsible for supporting Municipal bids and project delivery within the assigned portfolio/region. Be the project focal point for both customer as well as internal organization.
+ Works closely with Sales partners to develop winning proposals based on cost effective solutions that meet customer requirements and to accept handover of project information, review purchase order information and start project phase.
+ Manages projects including technical and commercial aspects - reviews contracts and technical specifications; ensures that performance, cost, and quality objectives are met; works with Service and Trojan Finance in timely project close out of customer contracts.
+ This function will involve travel to customers for short periods of time for kick off and progress meetings.
+ Leads the design submittal and manage the client through the approval stage.
+ Configures standard equipment manufactured by Trojan in Canada to suit customer's or contract requirements.
+ Manages change order requests making sure project profitability and scope creep is avoided.
+ Supports Production ensuring on time manufacture readiness and specification are met.
+ Coordinates Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) managing customer expectations and following factory standards.
+ Produces & Maintains project delivery schedules ensuring Trojan is not exposed contractually or commercially during order fulfilment stage.
+ Provides professional customer service, negotiating and resolving issues with customers and external stakeholders through all phases of the project to ensure customer satisfaction.
+ Solves technical problems, evaluating systems and or processes to determine root cause and implement corrective actions as required, engaging subject matter experts as needed.
+ Provides accurate and timely project status and progresses, communication of issues, risks, and corrective actions related to the projects.
Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Three to five years of experience in Project Management with PMP designation would be an asset.
+ Experience in Municipal Water industry and a with a working knowledge of contracts preferred.
+ Experience working with cross-functional technical discipline teams.
+ Knowledge of UV Disinfection would be an advantage.
+ Fluent English speaker.
+ Outstanding communication and reporting skills (written and verbal).
+ Advanced technical degree (e.g. Engineering) preferred.
+ Ability to travel both domestically & internationally is essential.
