Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the IGCSE Computer Science syllabus requirements.
Teach core topics such as algorithms, programming (e.g., Python), data representation, computer systems, and networks.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to accommodate different learning styles.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Prepare students for IGCSE examinations, including revision sessions and mock exams.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and share best practices.
Stay current with technological advancements and integrate them into teaching.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities (e.g., coding clubs, robotics), and professional development.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a related field (required).
Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science curriculum is highly desirable.
Strong programming knowledge, preferably in Python.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Passion for technology and education.

CSB aims to develop holistic education and skills for refugees, enabling them to integrate into society. CSB also works towards building the refugee community by enhancing their health and livelihood sectors and creating links to boost the community's capacity in these areas. Our goal for our students is to obtain 5 IGCSE credits in order to graduate.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an IGCSE Computer Science (0478) & ESL Teacher (0510/0511) based in Johor Bahru. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering both English and Computer Science lessons based on the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and developing lesson plans tailored to the needs of refugee students. The role also includes monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and supporting students in their language and computer skills development.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with the Cambridge Examination Board (IGCSE or A-Levels) is highly preferred, whether through teaching, tutoring, or having taken the examinations at the secondary level.
- Must be passionate about teaching and enthusiastic about working with students, with a commitment to tailoring methods to meet the needs of refugee learners
- Proficiency in using computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
