SUMMARY OF ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teach, manage and conduct face-to-face, online, or any other teaching methods deemed appropriate as directed by the Faculty/School.
2.vCommunicate and engage with students to provide support on academic, career and personal development matters.
3. Facilitate the delivery of courses to students in the role of Course Leader.
Develop and prepare curricular, course plans, learning materials, assignments and activities for students' learning.
Undertake monitoring and assessment of students' course works and maintain up-to-date and accurate records of their progress and achievement.
Upload, monitor and update learning materials and assessment in UNIEC VIRTUAL for all assigned courses.
Liaise with tutors at the regional centers to monitor the progress of each course at the centres and for quality control purposes.
8. Liaise with external parties and industry practitioners to provide industry relevant content and delivery of course module to the students.
- Prepare, review and moderate multiple sets of Final Exam questions for all assigned course, both for non-modular and modular program.
10. Mark and moderate exam papers under course leadership and those assigned by the faculty within the set deadline.
11. Key in exam marks into the system, verify and prepare exam report and course performance report to be tabled during Board of Examiners meeting.
Undertake research/scholarly activities and the supervision of students' research and placements as appropriate.
Participate and contribute to the design and delivery of the programmes in the faculty.
14. Identify and develop new module which include preparing TOC's and other relevant documents.
15. Participate and assist in the preparation of documents for the purpose of submission to accreditation bodies (e.g., MQA).
16. Contribute to the development of new approaches to teaching and learning.
Contribute to the review of learning programmes and to the implementation of quality improvement action plans, as part of the University quality framework.
Liaise and engage with other departments within the University on matters pertaining to teaching and learning.
Attend meetings, training, briefing and other relevant events related to the fulfilment of the main job as a lecturer.
Invigilate examinations as and when appointed.
Participate in promotional and marketing events as required.
Other duties assigned by the Dean, Deputy Vice Chancellor and the Management from time to time.
Train other lecturers.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum Qualification – PhD, Master's Degree in (IT, Computer Science/Computing/ Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing/ Engineering) or other related qualification is to be considered.
Skills / Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching with industrial experiences would be an added advantage.
- Fresh Graduates with PhD/Master's Degree are encouraged to apply.

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Cahaya Surya Bakti (CSB) is a Malaysian-based NGO partnered with UNHCR to run five schools for refugee children in Johor: Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi, Pekan Nanas, Kluang, and Muar. CSB aims to develop holistic education and skills for refugees, enabling them to integrate into society. CSB also works towards building the refugee community by enhancing their health and livelihood sectors and creating links to boost the community's capacity in these areas. Our goal for our students is to obtain 5 IGCSE credits in order to graduate.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an IGCSE Computer Science teacher based in Johor Bahru. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering Computer Science lessons based on the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and developing lesson plans tailored to the needs of refugee students. The role also includes monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and supporting students in their language and computer skills development.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with the Cambridge Examination Board (IGCSE or A-Levels) is highly preferred, whether through teaching, tutoring, or having taken the examinations at the secondary level.
- Must be passionate about teaching and enthusiastic about working with students, with a commitment to tailoring methods to meet the needs of refugee learners
- Proficiency in using computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Openness to feedback and willingness to adapt teaching methods to suit refugee students' needs

· Assist Team Leader / senior in corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance of system software. Guidance will be provided.

About the position
We seek to appoint a Computer Science teacher with a true passion for their subject. The use of well differentiated, formative assessment practices are required. Familiarity with, or a clear ability to work within a British Curriculum framework is needed, as is the ability to work in an environment where English is the medium of instruction. Experience in teaching IGCSE and A Levels Computer Science is an advantage.
A minimum of two years of teaching experience and PGCE/qualified teacher status (QTS) is required.

The Schools Curriculum
HIS uses the National Curriculum of England as the key guide for its programmes of study. The school offers Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level programmes in the upper secondary years. For admissions, students applying for a place in the school are subjected to CAT4 assessment with an English proficiency test as a written component. The academic progression assessment is supported by year group CAT4 testing in Years 3, 6, and 9 and GL Progress Tests from Years 4 to 9.
HIS is also an inclusive school with a Special Education Needs offering: 10% capped seats in each year group to support students with special learning needs.
