In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. In 2020, Bosch Malaysia generated consolidated sales of RM 518.4 million (108.1 million euros), and currently employs more than 4,000 associates.
PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

- Experience and Knowhow - A minimum of 2 years of working experience in the semiconductor test development field.
- Leadership Competence - Ability to lead technical discussions with design team and to lead a test development engineering team

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Proposal Development:
Collaborate with the sales team to analyze client requirements and develop customized solar solutions for commercial and industrial clients. Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system design, layouts, equipment specifications, and project cost estimations. Conduct preliminary feasibility studies, including energy yield assessments. - Site Assessment and Feasibility Studies:
Perform site visits to assess potential project locations, including roof structures, shading analysis, and electrical system compatibility. Evaluate site constraints, grid connection feasibility, and project risks. - System Design and Optimization:
Develop preliminary designs using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope). Optimize system layouts, equipment selection, and configurations to meet performance, budget, and client requirements. Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), solar PV system schematics, and other necessary documentation for proposals. - Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and project cost estimations. Work with procurement teams to source and evaluate materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with technical specifications. - Stakeholder Communication:
Provide technical support and presentations to clients during the proposal stage. Liaise with internal teams (sales, engineering, procurement, quantity survey and project management) to ensure alignment on project deliverables. - Regulatory and Compliance Support:
Ensure proposed systems comply with local regulations, safety standards, and grid requirements in Malaysia. - Continuous Improvement:

Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in project development, proposal engineering, or a similar role in the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
- Experience in commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, mounting structures, and energy storage systems.
