Contribute to research activities by submitting and securing internal and external research grants endorsed by the Research Institutes to attain impactful and meaningful research, innovation, commercialisation and consultancy projects that benefit the industry, society and university.
Contribute to university’s publication works by publishing articles in Q1/Q2 journals with impact factor and other types of publications like indexed journals, conference proceedings, publications with international co-authorship, book chapters and book manuscripts to attain impactful and meaningful publications that benefit the industry, society and university.
Contribute and provide services by networking and collaborating with internal parties (e.g. internal reviewer, taskforce members, student societies, clubs, etc) as well as securing membership in relevant national and international level professional bodies to attain higher quality education that benefit the industry, society and university.
REQUIREMENTS
- Possesses a PhD in Geoscience preferebaly major in Structural Geology OR any related discipline
- Demonstrate teaching, research, or industry experience
- Affiliation with professional body (e.g., Geological Society of London (GSL), Board of Geologist Malaysia (BoG)) is an added advantage
- Strong academic and industry networking capabilities
- Publication in Q1 and Q2 journals are preferred
Priority will be given to candidates who possess knowledge, experience, or expertise in the following areas:
Structural Geology, including but not limited to; Structural deformation and tectonics with strong knowledge in field-based structural analysis, stereographic projection techniques, and the integration of structural data in geoscience workflows, etc.
Strategic Minerals, including but not limited to: Exploration and assessment of critical mineral resources, sustainability and policy in the strategy mineral supply chain, etc. (for next stage of recruitment, if permitted)

ResearchThe successful candidate will join the group “Food Studies” of the Centre for Asian Modernization Studies (CAMS) and the Chair of “Food Studies: Food, Cultures and Health”. CAMS is a research centre developing collaborations between fellow researchers within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management of Taylor’s University, and CNRS-CERTOP of University of Toulouse (France) with which a collaboration is established in this field. The objective is to work in partnership with various stakeholders:
Academicians from social sciences and other disciplines related to Asian compressed modernization and Food Studies;
Societal and industrial actors from government officials, non-governmental organizations (profit and non-profit), industry professionals and practitioners.
Research activities and responsibilities:Participates in existing and ongoing research activities based on the Asian Food Barometer and the Social Behavioral Laboratory, Centre of Human Excellence and Development - including undertaking research projects, conference presentations, journal or book publications and relevant community work – examining modernization of food consumption across the Asian region;
Participates in the organization of public events and conferences that contribute to the high profile and visibility of the Food Studies Research Area and Programmes;
Participates in the development of and the thematical expansion of the research related to Food Studies;

Demonstrates research and academic excellence evidenced by at least fifteen (15) publications in ISI or Scopus journals in the last five years on topics related to food cultures and food systems;
At least Scopus H-Index of 12 (twelve) ;
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning;
