Job Description

  • Ensuring workplace safety is being complied at all time to ensure employees and stakeholders are free from any safety risk.
  • Be the first-hand support for production manager’s goals, visions and organization’s planning and act on behalf of the manager in decision making, handling ad-hoc issues, attend management meeting within the given roles when production manager is not present.

  • Plans and organizes of resources such as manpower, direct and indirect material, machines (and spare parts) as well as preventive maintenance for smooth daily operations of the respective production lines/units in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provides clear work direction and expectation to direct reports including but not limited to line leaders to ensure efficient and effective workflows including but not limited to only ensuring smooth shift transition.
  • Manages the respective group of employees, i.e.: line leaders & operators in workplace discipline, welfare, work performance and identifying the right on-the-job training.
  • Monitor and closely follow-up on daily production orders by efficiently planning and scheduling production activities in accordance with priority.
  • Coordinates with supervisors to ensure smooth transition from shift to shift.

Position Overview:


The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing/Production Operators of manufacturing equipment (about 30 operators) to produce our signature product. This individual will be responsible for various production activities such as training new workers and verifying the operator’s performance to maintain high productivity in high quality standard. The production involves heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, printed circuit board (PCB) handling, etcetera. In addition to production operation, this position also needs to lead the production operators to support the production floor preventative maintenance activity such as machine cleaning and cleanroom cleaning. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be accountable to the performance of their section and team members. This position requires strong communication skills with the production operators and engineering technicians for arrangement of the daily production activity and preventive activities.

Responsibilities:

• Able to use computer systems to support material inventory and quality management processes.
• Safely follow standard operating procedures including but not limited to material handling, record keeping, packaging, and shipment preparation. Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Excellent attention to detail, good organization, and capable of working independently with minimal instruction from production supervisor.
• Able to work in small groups and cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify and implement collective corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing and cleanroom production.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:


• Minimum Diploma Holder in any related field of study.
• 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing production
• Must be proficient in English language to be able to read documentation and communicate
• Multi-language fluency (English, Malay minimum)
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
• Previous experience running, debugging, and/or maintaining highly automated discrete component assembly equipment is preferred.
• Previous experience with technologies such as laser welding, heat staking, ultrasonic welding, and ESD-sensitive devices preferred but not required.
• Experience in a start-up production environment is a plus.
• Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Familiarity with manufacturing instrumentation such as optical gauging, video microscopes, micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong background in process standardization, KPI setting, and performance analysis
  • Solid understanding of BPO/GBS metrics, reporting, and industry best practices
  • Extensive experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and regional teams
  • High proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and case management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills with both technical and business acumen
  • Experience working with key business units such as:
    • Finance (Accounts Payable/Receivable)
    • Human Resources (Onboarding, Payroll, Master Data)
    • Business Operations
  • Comfortable handling manual data processes in environments with limited system support

Newcomer Onboarding

The Training and Process Improvement Officer has the key responsibility to onboard all ROO newcomers and ensure they have all the required tools and training to perform their expected task. Trainer’s responsibility includes but is not limited to scheduling and conducting all the training phases for the newcomer including the examination for the new officer to qualify as RO Solver.

Competency Management

The trainer also identifies what are the current team members gaps, proposes and provides refresher training or coordinates with external stakeholders to provide training for team upscaling.

User guide and Process Improvement

Under Process Improvement, they are to coordinate with WHS & ACD Managers, Team Leaders and also other FHS stakeholders (MFT) to ensure that processes are adhered to as per current RO User Guide and work jointly on improvement plans where gaps are identified. The Process Improvement team is then responsible to ensure the deployment of new processes, rules and regulations.

Component Issue Management (CIM)

Other responsibilities of Training and Process Improvement Officer are , but not limited to, being a member of the FHS Component Issue Management (CIM) Forum for ROO related topics and also the monitoring of ROO subcontractor performance.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
