- IBP SOP (Experience in setting up planning areas and Excel templates, setting up and managing application jobs)
- IBP Supply & Response (Experience in setting up planning areas and Excel templates, setting up and managing application jobs)
- CPI-DS (New and further development of Data Flows)
- Experience in working on IBP implementation projects and possibly leading a stream or template rollout
- Field-proven knowledge of SAP development technologies would be helpful
- Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Cost Engineer will be responsible for identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality and performance. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze manufacturing processes, materials, and product designs to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction through analysis of production processes, materials, and product designs.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
• Product Design Optimization: Work with the design and engineering teams to recommend changes in product designs that can achieve cost savings.
• Supplier Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to identify cost-effective suppliers and negotiate better terms and prices for materials and components.
• Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering analyses to ensure that products are manufactured at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality and functionality.

• Benchmarking: Perform benchmarking studies to compare costs with industry standards and identify best practices.

Your Impact
As a consultant in our two-year Operations Excellence Program (OEP), you will work on client engagements in the same way as any other McKinsey consultant. You will play an active role in problem solving for clients including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing, and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. You will gain leading edge operations and consultancy skills, primarily through on-the-job coaching, which will be complemented by the OEP’s structured capability-building program.
We view the OEP position as the start of a rewarding, challenging and highly flexible career with McKinsey and the Operations practice. During your first few years with the firm, you will serve as a consultant on multiple client engagements and work with a number of colleagues and clients in a range of industry and operations service lines. You will acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise to help companies achieve excellence in their operations.
Along with other members of the OEP community, you will dedicate many days to functional training and knowledge development under the leadership of our operations experts. You will follow a curriculum based on operations excellence themes and will receive advanced training in one of six specific areas of operations: manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, supply chain management, or capital excellence.
Upon completion of the program, successful consultants will join our global group of leading experts in operational excellence.
You’ll be based in one of our Southeast Asia offices as part of the Operations Practice, which blends strategic thinking with hands-on practicality to help clients achieve operational excellence.

Your qualifications and skills
- University degree with a technical or business specialization, with excellent academic performance
- 2+ years of professional experience in an area of operations (capital productivity, manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, or supply chain management)
- Strong energy and mining & metals background preferred
- Data analytics, automation and optimization experience preferred
- A solid knowledge, based on practical experience, of all areas of Lean Manufacturing, e.g., the Toyota Production System, kaizen methods, TPM, JIT, SMED
- Passionate about operational excellence
- Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
- Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
