You are interested in further support & developments of solutions in SAP IBP.

You translate the requirements of our internal partners into preliminary studies and technical concepts and work in joint interdisciplinary project teams on challenging and complex projects, subprojects, and work packages in the IBP environment and systems. The support of the run operation for the smooth running of the daily business is main part of your focus.

You are in regular contact with the worldwide localized colleagues and key users, structure, and process requests to run and support the business processes.

You operate in a multicultural international environment.

Occasionally you will travel to other national and international Evonik locations.

Requirements

• Good understanding of SAP S/4 Hana & IBP Environment
• Process -/ working knowledge of Material Management, Production Planning, Production Execution, Marketing & Sales
• IBP Demand (Experience in setting up planning areas and Excel templates, setting up and managing application jobs)
• IBP SOP (Experience in setting up planning areas and Excel templates, setting up and managing application jobs)
• IBP Supply & Response (Experience in setting up planning areas and Excel templates, setting up and managing application jobs)
• CPI-DS (New and further development of Data Flows)
• Experience in working on global IBP support
• Field-proven knowledge of SAP development technologies would be helpful
• You have very good English language skills, both written and spoken. Chinese is a bonus.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Cost Engineer will be responsible for identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality and performance. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze manufacturing processes, materials, and product designs to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction through analysis of production processes, materials, and product designs.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
• Product Design Optimization: Work with the design and engineering teams to recommend changes in product designs that can achieve cost savings.
• Supplier Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to identify cost-effective suppliers and negotiate better terms and prices for materials and components.
• Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering analyses to ensure that products are manufactured at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality and functionality.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven approaches to evaluate cost performance and track the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives.
• Benchmarking: Perform benchmarking studies to compare costs with industry standards and identify best practices.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on cost-saving initiatives, their impact, and progress toward cost reduction goals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as R&D, Quality, Production, and Finance to ensure alignment and support for cost reduction strategies.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all cost reduction activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Your Impact

As a consultant in our two-year Operations Excellence Program (OEP), you will work on client engagements in the same way as any other McKinsey consultant. You will play an active role in problem solving for clients including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing, and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. You will gain leading edge operations and consultancy skills, primarily through on-the-job coaching, which will be complemented by the OEP’s structured capability-building program.

Your qualifications and skills

• University degree with a technical or business specialization, with excellent academic performance
• 2+ years of professional experience in an area of operations (capital productivity, manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, or supply chain management)
• Strong energy and mining & metals background preferred
• Data analytics, automation and optimization experience preferred
• A solid knowledge, based on practical experience, of all areas of Lean Manufacturing, e.g., the Toyota Production System, kaizen methods, TPM, JIT, SMED
