The Strategic Sourcing Manager leads end-to-end procurement strategies for VAT Malaysia, driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and regulatory compliance. The role partners with stakeholders to align business needs, manages supplier relationships and contracts, and achieves savings targets while fostering continuous improvement and developing a high-performing procurement team.

Yourresponsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Stakeholder Satisfaction & Relationship Management:
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders with strong business relationship to understand their procurement needs and provide appropriate solutions.
    • Be preferred local Business Partner and be the voice of business stakeholder's needs & requirements by understanding and relay business needs and requirements.
    • Provide outstanding services that meet stakeholders’ needs to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Compliance and Regulatory Control:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. To provide strategies to increase compliance.
    • Develop, implement and manage all vendor relationships and services ensuring compliance to service level agreements.
  • Strategy and Suppliers Management:
    • Responsible for end to end management of VAT Malaysia plant, including category sourcing, projects in the pipeline, procurement process and policies and managing the spend and savings targets for the plant spend.
    • Align with VAT CH team to develop and execute strategy for indirect spend categories.
    • Lead the development of indirect strategies to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
    • Manage complex projects from conception through implementation, including change management
    • Establish and maintain supplier relationships, and facilitate periodic business reviews to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
    • Manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements
  • Contract Negotiation and Cost Management:
    • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Monitor and report activities to ensure fulfilling service levels and take mitigation actions in case of non-fulfilment of agreements
    • Partner with legal to ensure proper forms of Agreement are utilized, contractor conformance with the terms and conditions of the Agreements, and refinement of Agreements as required.
    • Accountable for IDM spend & savings targets and objectives for VAT MY
    • Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve processes.
    • Supporting scrap management for the manufacturing plant.

  • Candidate must be a strong people manager, able to make informed decisions and manage detail and risk.
  • Working experience within a global complex organization.
  • Strong management and organizational skills to build teamwork and collaboration.
  • Builds strong and successful strategic supplier partnerships. Coaches and develop team and provides regular feedback and guidance.
  • Significant expertise in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
  • Advanced and validated knowledge of procurement industry cost structures and drivers
  • General knowledge of applicable sourcing, planning, and logistics laws and regulations
  • Confirmed project management and process improvement experience

You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and support Workday Strategic Sourcing functionalities to enhance sourcing strategy, supplier collaboration, and sourcing event execution processes. Additionally, you will work with technical teams including data and integration, providing functional inputs and validating testing scenarios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support Workday Strategic Sourcing module implementation, configuration and optimization.
  • Provide expert guidance on Workday Strategic Sourcing best practices.
  • Gather business requirements, lead client workshops, develop and maintain functional documentation and translate requirements into Workday system configurations.
  • Configure Workday Strategic Sourcing business processes, including RFP/RFI events, supplier onboarding, evaluations, award decisions, and sourcing workflows.
  • Configure Workday security roles, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective integration of business processes.
  • Work closely with data and integration teams, providing functional inputs, validating test scenarios, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Conduct system testing, including preparing test cases, executing tests and resolving defects.
  • Provide end-user training and develop documentation.
  • Stay updated with Workday features and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading and managing the team to achieve successful outcomes, making key decisions, and providing status updates to the PMO.

The Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Boston Scientific is responsible for developing and executing optimal category & sourcing strategies for finished medical devices. Establish & enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, whilst reducing or mitigating risk in the Supply Chain. Responsible for developing a supplier database that identifies and categorizes potential suppliers by category and region to increase the value proposition and reduce TCO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic influence while building value-add relationships with engaged finished good suppliers to increase sourcing efficiency.
  • Manages strategic supplier relationships in line with the Category Strategy and understands the strategic differentiators for each supplier.
  • Define, build, and plan alignment on Category Strategy for assigned category.
  • Gathers Market Intelligence and trends for the Category and Sub-Categories
  • Identifies risks within the category and works closely with stakeholders to eliminate or take mitigating actions for strategic risks.

  • Ensures optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure to ensure maximum value is realized.
  • Negotiates value improvements and manages supplier contracts.
  • Provide strategic influence with internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for arranging and executing monthly and quarterly supplier performance reviews with key suppliers.
  • Owns annual budget process for assigned suppliers as well as crisis or systematic issue resolution.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.
  • Build alignment between business needs and market dynamics.
  • Identifies insourcing and outsourcing opportunities.
  • Establish early involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost.
  • Leads R&D communications related to the Category and facilitates the identification and evaluation of new materials or technologies to cover current and potential future BSC requirements
  • Identifies all suitable suppliers per category and region per sample RFQ and develops comprehensive supplier knowledge & database.
  • Works closely with and engages on proactive information sharing with other Global Sourcing Team Members to optimize supply base.
  • Develops Should-Cost Models for major sub-categories.
Job Requirements
  • Candidate required to possess at least a degree in any related field.
  • At least Minimum of 10-12 years Strategic Procurement (Sourcing) and Supplier Relationship Management
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Experience managing supplier contracts and negotiating value improvements
  • Excellent communication (in English) and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, travel typically does not occur over weekend

  • Responsible for improving material productivity by maintaining 125% material pipeline, CMP, TEBIT and WAV analysis and Drive VA/VE projects in collaboration with Engineering
  • Responsible for supplier price management, including PIA
  • Responsible for maintaining the capabilities and capacities of suppliers to avoid any constraints
  • Ensure and Drive MOQ optimization for material/components (incl. finished goods) used by the plant for production and establish supplier agreements, e. g. VMI, EDI, consignment, Scheduling Agreements frame order review, blanket PO)
  • Lead the consolidation of Supplier Footprint, incl. setup of new suppliers, reducing number of suppliers
  • Ensure that suppliers meet TE compliance requirements (RoHs, Reach, conflict minerals, supplier portals)
  • Responsible for contracting of supplier commercial agreements, incl. bailment, inventory management and supply agreements.
  • Responsible for conducting QBR’s with strategic suppliers and the drive of respective corrective actions
  • Regularly carry out Suppliers risk assessments per business needs
  • Ensure data on OV tools is captured and delivered to finance.
  • Work with team on ISO Related documents, process and compliance check on regular frequency

As aLead Strategic Sourcing , your focus will be establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business Leadership for your assigned commodity / category and/or region as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. •Drive and execute Annual and Strategic Plan with supporting strategies
•Right and Fast execution of strategies to align with business Growth and New Product Introductions
•Manage Global Commodity Strategies including spend analysis, Benchmarking, Cost, Market Analysis and Global Technology / Economic trends
•Ensure Relationship development and management with key Supplier Leaderships
•Align with Site Sales, Marketing, Technology, Business, Operations, Finance and Quality and Other Honeywell Businesses
•Manage Supplier selection, RFQ and RFI process, Negotiation, Contracting and supplier performance processes
•Improve Working Capital thru Payment Terms extensions, Payment cycle optimization, Vendor Managed Inventories Inventory and Lead time reductions
•Assist in Site Tactical Procurement escalations, reconciliations and reporting as required
