Job Summary

Provide subcontractors with information and direction, as outlined within contract specifications, to allow the work to proceed as scheduled. Authority to interpret technical requirements and provide solutions in conjunction with discipline Project Department Engineer and Discipline Superintendent, to provide drawings and data, and to direct work as assigned and consistent with Company's contractual commitments. May perform subcontract administration of discipline specific or assigned procurements. Interprets and administers fundamental commercial issues. Position may transition to assistant superintendent or startup engineering role. Key Responsibilities Provide resident Piping & Mechanical construction support and management of BV QA/QC inspection services. Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly progress review meeting Review all pre-fab and installation construction engineering deliverables including procedures, plans, drawings, specifications, QA/QC documentation, Inspection, witnessing and Site Acceptance Test(SAT), etc. Provide the inspection and witness services relevant to mechanical and piping per agreed ITP and Witness Points, SAT, and other major milestone test on the site Provide inspection services relevant to mechanical and piping of off-site manufacturing / fabrication facilities, off-site storage / laydown facilities, storage of imported equipment and packages/crates, as required. Verify the provision of QA/QC records and certificates relevant to mechanical and piping. Verify and compile the punch list and non-conformance reports relevant to mechanical and piping. Coordinate with BV engineering team for any technical clarification

Management Responsibilities Preferred Qualifications

.Experience on construction and commissioning of two large CCGT projects. More than 5 years of experience as Lead site engineer position on CCGT project. rotating equipment experience preferably from Sarawak

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Piping discipline. The Piping Stress Engineer solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Piping Stress Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Piping team and other related teams and ensures that they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Performs engineering task related to design engineering, analysis, and calculations, applying the content and application of McDermott and industry standards, codes, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Read and understand the project contract including scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements.
• Achieve basic knowledge of MDR's business units and interactions including engineering, fabrication, and marine functions.
• Become familiar with P&IDs, Line List, Equipment Layouts, Piping Specifications and Design Basis.
• Prepare the Piping Stress Critical Line List and required Engineered Pipe Support datasheets.
• Prepare the Flexibility Analysis, Wind/Seismic and Pipe Support Fabrication specification.
• Prepare Material Requisitions, Technical Queries, Technical Bid Evaluations and Purchase Requisitions of Piping Engineered items including Special Engineered and Standard Pipe Supports, as well as expansion joints where applicable.
• Perform stress analysis on critical piping systems using comprehensive and manual methods on identified complex piping systems.
• Keep the Piping Project Leadership apprised of all activities, progress and concerns.
• Be aware of costs relation to own work.
• Recognize changes to scope and notify the Discipline Lead Engineer.
• Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager.
• Assist procurement personnel in procuring discipline equipment, materials and services. Procurement assistance includes preparing requisitions, evaluating technical quotations and preparing queries, compiling bid tabulations and recommendations, preparing purchase requisitions, and coordinating with Procurement to expedite vendor documents, as directed by Discipline Lead Engineer.

Project Management Team, Document Control, Project Cost Control and Planning Group, Procurement Group, Subcontractors

and Vendors, Clients

Supervises: Associate Engineers and Engineers

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8-15 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultants predominantly performing detail design
• Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society
• Flexible for Business Travelling
• Committed to McDermott values
• Detailed knowledge of Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design Phases of Projects
• Detailed knowledge and experience of design techniques and application of standards, codes, and guidelines
• Familiar with all Piping Sub-Disciplines including Design and Modelling, Pipe Stress & Support, Piping Material Engineering, and MTO activities and deliverables
• Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills
• Conversant with international codes and standards like ANSI, ASME, API, BS, NFPA, etc.
• Familiar with SP3D / E3D / Navisworks
• Familiar with stick-built and modularization approach
