Overview
MISSION
We are seeking an Intellectual Property Senior Legal Officer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the protection of the intellectual property assets of MKS Pamp, in close collaboration with the Legal Team in Geneva.
Main Activities and Responsibilities- Perform trademark availability searches, review and select relevant results
- Perform filings in the jurisdictions (WIPO, national authorities), prepare all related documentation including applications for registration of trademarks
- Deal with objections issued by IP offices and responses to oppositions initiated by third parties, coordinate with external counsels
- Handle registration process
- Handle renewal of IP rights
- Manage and update internal IP database
- Create new files/records as needed, docket and monitor deadlines
- Watch publications of competitive trademarks
- Coordinate with local external counsels the filing and follow up of oppositions
- Conduct investigation on potentially infringing products, due diligence
- Gather, organize and store evidence of use materials to support IP portfolio and enforcement activity
- Watching of conflicting domain names, coordination of enforcement actions
- Prepare cease and desist letters in infringement matters
- Prepare various standard IP documents (letters, agreements, internal documentation etc.) and drafts of routine correspondence, including documents in support of intellectual property prosecution
- Review and approve invoices and expenditures, ensure cost management in line with the IP budget
- Liaise with Customs authorities to coordinate anti-counterfeiting investigations and seizures including communication of proper documentation and drafting of various forms, including border protection notices
- Perform other duties as requested
- A Master's degree in law
- 3+ years of experience working in an in-house counsel environment, specializing in contract management and legal administration.
- Expertise in contract structure, legal terminology, and contract management processes.
- Experience in a law firm, work in an intellectual property firm or in an in-house legal department would be an asset
- Familiarity with contract compliance and legal practices in Asia, UK (US, EU as a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience liaising with cross-functional or international teams; strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in document management systems, e-signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign, AdobeSign), and CRM tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (fluent English is required).
