The opportunityWe are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Legal Counsel to support and enable our rapid growth across the Asia region. This is a critical role within our Legal function, where you will serve as a strategic partner to affiliates and leadership teams in Asia, helping ensure the business operates efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Legal: Provide high-level and wide-ranging advice to DT business stakeholders regarding DT legal exposure in Asia, including customer contracts, service contracts, operating and property leases, licenses and tenders
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders in the Asia region
- Work with various business units in the Asia region to ensure understanding of, compliance with, or acceptance of stated terms and conditions
- Work with external counsel, internal stakeholders, and insurance providers to manage commercial disputes
- Manage and maintain contract templates, including updates and revisions
- Coordinate with Legal and Compliance Manager, Contracts Manager - Asia and other stakeholders in the Asia region to resolve contract-related disputes
- Advise DT Asia Regulatory affairs team on legal issues relating to marketing regulations, product liability and customer complaints
- Work with DT P&C team to provide legal advice and support regarding employment agreements, disputes and/or policies
- Stay up-to-date with local laws and regulations that impact contracts in the Asian region
- Compliance: Develop and enhance compliance policies to ensure they are relevant for DT Asia; conduct monitoring activities; provide guidance on legal and compliance (including APACMed Code of Conduct); undertake investigations into non-compliance; develop training and communications materials; participate in risk and project work; support risk management and WHS activities

Experience required:
- Experience in contract review, negotiation, administration and management of a variety of contracts, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology in the Asia region
- Knowledge of corporate governance and company secretarial responsibilities
- Highly skilled in interpreting legal documentation
- Analytical, organisational and time management capabilities; strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Very good computer skills; understanding of Device Technologies policies and procedures including vaccinations and background checks
- Called to the bar in any Commonwealth country
- 5–7 years legal experience, with mix of law firm and in-house experience
- Experience in compliance with a focus on auditing; regional experience in Asia; experience compiling tender responses in a medical field; experience dealing with relevant industry regulators

About the Role
The Legal P&C and L&H Transactions team is looking for a Legal Counsel to support in the execution of L &H and P&C transactions across the APAC region in addition to supporting the global legal transactions team from time to time with transactions outside of APAC. In addition to applying deep technical expertise in the legal advice and execution of transactions, the role also requires due application of oversight and steering in respect of transactions governance and compliance with external and internal requirements.
The role will present an opportunity for the successful candidate to work with the global legal transactions team as well as with different local legal sources (whether part of the local reinsurance counsel team or those part of different teams in Legal Corporate Centre and Group Functions for example) to lead the strengthening of legal transactional support across the globe. The role will support the execution of Legal and Compliance transaction governance, setting structure and processes for Legal by Design in the area of transactions, building a competency network of lawyers and support to build a global platform for the management of transactional knowledge and the development of best practices to enhance contract certainty and loss avoidance as well as driving transactional key initiatives.
In this role you will:
- Work closely with a diverse group of structurers, marketers, client managers, underwriters, actuaries and other cross-functional colleagues as part of the transactions core team for both LHSS and PCSS
- Provide legal advice guidance and support in relation to complex structures (e.g. deals falling within the FMT scope) for both LHSS and PCSS
- Review, draft and negotiate contracts and legal documents for reinsurance and retrocession transactions during structuring, negotiation, execution and implementation phases
- Conduct legal and regulatory due diligence on transactions; analyze and advise on legal and regulatory matters as they apply to Swiss Re's transaction activities in reinsurance APAC or globally
- Support the strengthening of transactional knowledge management and the development of house positions for reinsurance and retrocession transactions within Legal P&C and L&H Transactions, the development of efficient transactional policies, templates (in different languages if necessary) and best practices that maintain high legal, compliance and ethical standards
- Facilitate international coordination of legal/regulatory issues and help to maintain and adjust the legal and regulatory framework and processes of Swiss Re in order to meet the legal, regulatory and internal requirements
- Support internal group projects and initiatives, as needed; provide timely and concise input to senior management and ensure adequate management reporting
- Instruct and manage outside counsel (as needed)
- Conduct and/or arrange internal presentations and trainings on legal topics with focus on transactions
- Monitor legal and regulatory trends affecting relevant business areas

Your role
As a member of the SEAK, Japan, India Legal & Regulatory team, this role will be responsible for providing legal advice and support principally to the retail business as part of the regional Legal & Regulatory team, covering all retail activities of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, as well as supporting other legal review required by any EssilorLuxottica business in Malaysia. Provide the local team with legal assistance in all different legal matters, as well as risk assessment and assisting the Lgeal & Compliance initiatives and policies of EssilorLuxottica Group.
Main Responsibilities
- General business support commercial contracts (sales, supply, distribution, etc), services agreements, leases, real estate documents review, bank guarantees, security deposits, various other collaterals and agreements, such as intercompany loans, NDAs, sponsorship agreement, promotion agreements, franchise agreements, regulatory support for medical devices sold at stores (including opthalmic lenses, contact lenses etc), provision of eye exams at stores, sale of hearing aids and other medical devices (such as instruments).
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including monitoring deadlines, contract and documents management.
- Assist SEAK legal team with regional legal tasks as required from time to time (report of local litigation, implementation of controls etc).
- Provide advice on regulatory, A&P and consumer law matters involving marketing and sales of products and rendering of services.
- Handling requests in relation to day-to-day general commercial and corporate legal supported activities (notices, formal letters, power of attorney, Minutes of Board meetings etc).
- Participating in meetings with internal clients
- Coordination of work with external law firms (employment law and others).
- Interactions and collaboration with intellectual property and Compliance teams and leaders to ensure compliance at local level with Group policies and actions to be deployed by them supported by this role.
- Minimum Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) and Malaysian law qualified lawyer. Additional qualification in Singapore would be an advantage.
- At least 4yrs post qualification working experience in reputable law firms and in house would be a plus.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with a solution orientated approached.
- Excellent business acumen to understand business concepts and act as business partner; able to thrive in a fast-paced and hands on environment.
- Leadership and strategic skills, capable to handle complexity and to manage priorities.

OverviewAdecco's client, a leading global organization, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory support for its international payments and remittance business. This role will work closely with cross-border teams and stakeholders to advise on complex legal issues, ensure compliance with evolving regulations, and support strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial regulatory expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities- Provide primary legal support to the global payments and remittance team on a wide range of cross-border and domestic legal and regulatory matters.
- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts; advise on new product initiatives; and monitor legal/regulatory developments impacting payments and remittances.
- Partner with compliance, AML/sanctions, privacy, IP, and litigation teams to identify and mitigate regulatory risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business development, finance, tax, risk, operations) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support internal review and approval processes for new strategic initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and manage legal policies and procedures for the payments and remittance business.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Law.
- 6-8 years PQE with substantial experience in financial services, preferably in payments and/or cross-border funds transfer.
- Common law legal qualification with international law firm training preferred; prior in-house regulatory/business experience an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulatory frameworks in Asia, particularly payment regulations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) as an added advantage.
