Role Summary:

The On-Site Aftermarket Engineer is responsible to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong technical and commercial support for all Flowserve pump aftermarket pump repairs, upgrades, and parts business from opportunity identification and quotation through final customer delivery. This involves coordinating with site teams in Engineering, Maintenance, and Planning, while addressing both technical and commercial inquiries.
  • Communicate customer's requirements to Flowserve and be the primary conduit of information regarding pump repair and parts into Flowserve while providing accurate and timely response.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify needs, enhance Flowserve's product offerings, and improve the customer experience to drive business growth.
  • Manage orders from customer through the Flowserve aftermarket operations, notify teams of pending shipments from customer to Flowserve facilities and from Flowserve facilities to customer.
  • Ensure final inspections are conducted including proper shipping documentation.
  • Proactively facilitate aftermarket change notices to capture BOM changes to facilitate proper loading of B/M’s.
  • Provide communication to the Sales Manager, Execution Manager, and Sales Engineer on any issues that arise on site.
  • Participate in corrective action requests and take initiative outside area of responsibility to drive quality improvements in the organization.
  • Present clear verbal and written technical explanations to customers, tailoring content and style to the audience.
  • Unit Walks / Start-up support / Quote Support / troubleshooting-research documentation.
  • This position to be based in Pengerang, Johor.

Requirements:

  • Technical/ Engineering or manufacturing background preferred with an extensive knowledge and experience pump, mechanical seal or field serving engineering.
  • Have a customer first attitude and be the advocate for the customer within Flowserve, acting as a liaison with sales engineers, manufacturing, operations and engineering teams.
  • A team player, able to problem-solve and work constructively with customers and multi-discipline site level teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, projecting a strong customer focus and a positive Flowserve image.
  • Computer savvy and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Able to travel locally to and from customer sites and Flowserve facilities required.

Overview:

Conducts service, repair and/or installation of Hach and Opco products at customer site, including inspection and troubleshooting, in accordance with maintenance contracts. Diagnoses system failures and determines the most cost-effective solution.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the service support for the accounts assigned, achieve high customer satisfaction rating and Service revenue target.
  • Use established ISO work instructions to provide repair, calibration, certification and preventative maintenance services for all Hach brands equipment.

Skills & Competency Requirements -

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer (UPS/Cooling) to join our team and make a significant impact. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Schneider’s comprehensive range of cooling and refrigeration products, including UPS, STS, PTU, battery solutions, and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of all aspects of power systems.

What will you do?

  • Installation and commissioning of UPS within data centers, ensuring proper setup, integration, and optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on UPS. Troubleshoot UPS/Cooling system, PTU, resolving them quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Installation and commissioning of HVAC and cooling system (CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers) within data centers, ensuring proper setup, integration, and optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on HVAC systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, resolving them quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance / Repair : The candidate will be expected to complete planned and unscheduled maintenance on the Schneider Electric product range.
  • Maintain accurate service records, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Provide clients with clear reports on system status and recommended actions.
  • Build and maintain client relationships by providing expert advice on system optimization, cooling loads, and thermal management to ensure peak operational performance.
  • Ensure all service work adheres to safety standards, regulations, and best practices, creating a safe work environment at all times.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and restore cooling systems swiftly to minimize disruptions to critical data center operations.
  • 24x7 on Call: The candidate will need to be prepared to attend customer sites at short notice to perform diagnosis and repairs.

What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Prior experience on UPS and Cooling in Data Centre will be a strong advantage
  • Experience handling CRAC / PAC
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in UPS field services, with a focus on data centers or high-performance environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of UPS, electrical systems, PTU systems and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and software for UPS systems.
  • Has experience in HVAC field services, with a focus on data centers or high-performance environments.

5. Able to travel to HQ in China if required

Job Description

  • Manage, monitor and arrange multiple site work requests from internal & external works.
  • Prepare and issue Site Work Request Form and manage documents folder for hardcopy & softcopy in the server.
  • Supervise, arrange, coordinate and control activities of the Site Work requested with Project Team & Customer.
  • Provide briefing to the team for target duration and achievement of goal to completion work.
  • Assign duties to staff and transportation to implement project goals as needed for the Site Work.
  • Provide training and ensure safety of work at site to the team to maintain a healthy working environment among team members at site.
  • Discuss and assist Project Team to study and plan for the requested site work.
  • Evaluate and monitor site work costing and update Project & M&S latest cost requirements.
  • Assist Project Team to prepare and review site work quotations.
  • Source and engage outsource services when required. Liaise with subcontractors for price review and assign jobs.
  • Prepare required documents as per ISO SOP for Metal Parts & Components request. Review and ensure all components & metal parts prepared by Project & Fabrication Team are in order before attending site.
  • Arrange site survey requests, coordinate and address site requirements with site PIC on the works required.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Improvise on existing site work planning products and scheduling for the company to make them more feasible and cost-effective for future growth.
  • Provide support and respond to Technician difficulties at site.
  • Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3 years working experience in the related field.
  • Preferably candidates with experience in switchgear or switchboard industry.
  • Must be able to communicate well with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Able to travel from time to time to support site work.
