Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, mathematics and/or statistics, or engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Supply Chain environment within demand management; digitalization experience is valued.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Advanced Planning Systems, and data analytics tools; passion for digital innovation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Access and Excel; experience with VBA, SQL, or Power BI is a plus.

Reporting to the APO (Asia/Pacific/Oceania) Deployment Planning Manager, the Demand Planner, APO role is a pivotal part of our organization to support the growth of IDEXX’s CAG line of business, incorporating both Instrument and Consumables forecasting and inventory management. Collaborative forecasting with our Commercial regional teams, to understand the varying demand dynamics is a key component to ensure our products get to the right place, at the right time, with the right volumes, resulting in seamless availability to our customers. Your forecasts will drive global production signals whilst ensuring correct inventory deployment across the APO countries.

This is a dynamic and unique role within the IDEXX Global Planning Team requiring initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and the ability to proactively grow inter-departmental and cross-functional relationships.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain Demand Planning data in our Integrated Business Planning Tool (IBP) to drive transfer of forecasts into supply planning systems for CAG Instruments (both New and QC) and Consumables.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support the end-to-end planning process, by being the line of business interface to supply chain, integrating all sources of demand.
  • Create and run predictive models to perform statistical analysis of historical data combined with business intelligence to generate 12-60 month unconstrained consensus forecasts by region and IDEXX warehouse location.
  • Lead cross-functional supply/demand planning meetings to align on consensus forecast and regional supply plans.
  • Work closely with the APO Deployment Team and US Supply Planners to ensure forecasts are accurately maintained to drive correct signals through SCM.
  • Collaborate closely with the Americas & Europe Demand Planner, ensuring a standardized approach to reporting as well as sharing demand behaviors and trend across the different regions.
  • Prepare and present forecast review to management as required.
  • Provide demand variability data and risk to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Track and communicate forecast accuracy KPI to key business partners, applying where necessary to help shape future demand trends and/or seasonality.
  • Manage New Production Introductions (NPI) in alignment with global and regional Marketing launch plans and US Supply Planning.
  • Participate on specific projects as required.
  • Support and function as back-up where necessary, across the Global Demand Planning and Deployment team.
  • Management of scrap/expiring stock where required.
  • Develop and continuously improve and strengthen business processes, staying current with best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, statistics, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Min 5+ years’ experience in forecasting/supply planning within a manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

Degree/ master’s in business administration, international trade/business, supply chain planning

At least 5 years’ experience in Supply Planning or Demand Planning/Forecasting or Sales & Inventory Management

Advanced proficiency in MS Office365 software (for e.g., MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook, SharePoint)

Ability to learn/use demand management software

Team-oriented approach and ability to work in a matrix organization

Ability to work as part of a diverse and high-energy team

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization

Able to communicate tactfully and effectively in both verbally and writing

Able to maintain effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.

Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.

The ideal candidate will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a Demand Planner You Will

Responsible for the demand management of APAC regional product category/ies.

Responsible for the demand management for Indian Subcontinent

Develop a clear, aligned demand plan in the near-to-long term basis by implementing demand control in the near-term (0-3 months) and mid-term/longer term strategic divisional demand plan, for both Unconstrained & Constrained forecast.

Review & achieve sign-off on 4-24 month demand plan in conjunction with regional Market Managers, Sub-regional Managers and Commercial Directors. Ensure that changes to the demand plan are well aligned with supply chain through the Integrated Business Planning Process.

Drive the weekly demand changes process with sub-regional demand managers and actively participate in the commercial war rooms; Support the monthly regional demand review meeting in 1st week of every month

Take decisions to ensure demand control within 0-6 months (involves discussing the allocation options with sub-regions within APAC and with supply chain)

Review and aligned finance outlook projection with sub region manager, and provide the details to regional demand team

As the main interface, to lead and guide the sub-regional demand team

Receive instructions and perform duties as required by regional/global directives
