Role Overview
The Network Solution Engineer plays a critical role in the delivery and execution of network solutions across Toll’s Data Centre, branch sites, and cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for deploying secure and scalable connectivity solutions, applying network changes, and ensuring technical alignment across hybrid environments — including on-premises infrastructure, Azure, AWS, and SD-WAN architectures.
This hands-on role is suited for experienced engineers who thrive in delivery-focused teams, have strong Cisco and firewall expertise, and can work collaboratively to ensure successful project outcomes across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy network solutions across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments in line with design documentation and business requirements.
- Configure and deploy Cisco-based routing, switching, LAN/WAN, WLAN, WLC, SD-WAN, and firewall solutions.
- Apply changes and rule sets on firewalls (Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Fortinet) as per security and segmentation requirements.
- Configure and integrate cloud-native network components in Azure and AWS (VNETs, VPCs, Transit Gateways, NSGs, Route Tables, etc.).
- Work with and configure cloud interconnect services such as Megaport and Equinix Fabric.
- Support security integration via Zscaler, Symantec Cloud Proxy, and site-to-site VPNs.
- Participate in the change management process — raise changes in ServiceNow, attend CAB, and implement after-hours changes when required.
- Document configurations, runbooks, and test outcomes for operational handover.
- Collaborate with architects, PMs, and site support teams to execute detailed network solution plans.
- Validate and troubleshoot network performance during and after deployments.
- 5+ years in network solution or delivery roles, with both on-prem and cloud experience.
- Strong proficiency with Cisco enterprise networking (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience configuring:
- Cisco switching, routing, SD-WAN
- Cisco WLC and Wireless infrastructure
- Checkpoint Firewall or similar NGFW platforms
- Experience with:
- Azure and AWS networking components (e.g., VNETs, VNets, NSGs, TGWs, VGWs)
- Megaport, Direct Connect, or ExpressRoute connectivity
- Symantec Cloud Proxy and Zscaler integration
- Comfortable raising and implementing network changes via ServiceNow or equivalent.
- Experience preparing and updating solution documentation (HLDs, LLDs, as-builts, runbooks).
- Clear communication skills to work with project teams, technical leads, and site engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, or equivalent.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP) – required.
- Azure or AWS networking certification – desirable.
- Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE or other security certification – a plus.
- Hybrid role with combination of remote and on-site work.
- After-hours support for critical change windows may be required.
- Occasional travel to Toll data centers and facilities as needed.

Trained to ITIL standards, the incumbent is expected to be proactive in the delivery of support to the client and help provide a superior service vs traditional telcos and IT integrators. This role works across the deployment and management phases of our SD-WAN service offering (which in full span: Assess > Deploy > Manage > Optimize), with most of the focus being in the Manage phase which is the “business as usual” or Run stage of the lifecycle.
In addition, the Senior Network Support Engineer will collaborate with the Coevolve Sales Team (Network Engineers and Technical Consultants) to proactively develop and implement technical solutions and best practices supporting and enabling strong business relationships with their key technical contacts across our sales geographies.
The role reports to the Network Operations Centre Manager and the work pattern will be 24/7 support in shift-work.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced ticket analysis to address complex technical issues efficiently.
- Resolve a wide range of network incidents, including routing issues and third-party integrations like Zscaler.
- Address active tickets within designated staffing levels or as directed by the Head of Technical Operations.
- Identify and escalate new bugs for further analysis by Escalation Engineers.
- Prepare change management requests for approval by the CAB (minor change).
- Execute medium and high-impact changes following standard procedures, with guidance as needed.

Solution Design & Technical Sales Support Collaborate with sales to understand customer needs and propose customized solutions (Cisco-led but vendor-agnostic when needed). Networking: Cisco LAN/WAN, SD-WAN (Viptela, Fortinet, Velocloud), Data Center (ACI, Nexus). Develop BoMs, High-Level Designs (HLDs), and SOWs. Conduct hands-on demos, PoCs, and workshops (e.g., Cisco DNAC, SD-WAN controllers, security tools). Articulate why our solutions outperform competitors (Juniper, Fortinet, Huawei). Stay ahead of trends (e.g., AI-driven networking, cloud-native security) and quickly master new technologies. Work with vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, and other principals) to leverage latest product updates. The Day-To-Day Activities
- Handle Customer Complaints: Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve complaints related to mobile network services, including Data, Voice Calls, and SMS on LTE and 5G networks. Gather complaints and feedback from various sources such as Trouble Tickets (TT) from Customer Service, Sales, Dealers, emails, SMS, VIP customers, Management, and Service Quality checks. Ensure issues are addressed promptly and clearly.
- Troubleshoot Network Issues: Utilize your technical expertise to identify root causes and provide solutions, ensuring consistently good and uninterrupted service for customers.
- Rotational Standby Routine: Participate in a rotational standby routine to handle urgent or important complaints after office hours on a weekly basis.
- Support Adhoc Network-Related Tasks: Be ready to take on additional network-related tasks or special assignments as directed by the head of management.
- Meet Team KPIs and SLAs: Complete all assigned tasks accurately and on time, ensuring alignment with team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to contribute to smooth team operations.
- Professional Development: Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development, staying abreast of advancements in telecommunication technologies and industry trends to enhance performance and support service excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering, indicative of a solid foundation in the relevant academic disciplines.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with at least 2 years of experience in a related field will be given priority, especially those with a strong understanding of network operations and complaint handling.
- Proven experience in managing customer complaints related to telecommunication network services, including Data Connectivity, Voice Calls, and SMS, across LTE and 5G networks.
- Basic understanding of 3GPP standards, functions, and call flows, ensuring compliance with industry protocols for planning, troubleshooting, and service improvement.
- Proficiency in call flows and signaling, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and resolution of network issues.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple daily tasks, ensuring timely completion without compromising quality.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex technical issues and collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Contact Center and Sales/Alternate Channel teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying informed about the latest advancements in telecommunication technologies and industry trends to enhance performance and support service excellence.
