About the role
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Network Manager to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, high-performance network infrastructure across our automotive operations. This role is critical in supporting both IT and OT (Operational Technology) systems, including factory floor connectivity, engineering systems, and enterprise communication platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and an understanding of automotive manufacturing environments.
Job Responsibilities :
Network Infrastructure Management
- Design, deploy, and manage robust LAN/WAN and wireless network systems across multiple manufacturing sites, R&D centers, and office locations.
- Ensure reliable connectivity for manufacturing execution systems (MES), PLCs, and IoT devices used on the production floor.
- Maintain network uptime and performance in high-availability, mission-critical environments.
2. Security & Compliance
- Implement network security protocols to safeguard against cyber threats, especially in OT and IT convergence areas.
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation strategies to isolate sensitive systems (e.g., engineering and production).
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards such as ISO/SAE cybersecurity for road vehicles), NIST, and GDPR.
3. Team & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with IT, plant operations, and external vendors to ensure network services align with business and manufacturing needs.
- Manage contracts and SLAs with telecom and infrastructure service providers.
4. Monitoring, Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Monitor network performance using tools like Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, or equivalent.
- Identify and resolve network issues proactively to minimize downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend infrastructure improvements.
5. Project & Change Management
- Lead network-related projects including upgrades, expansions, and new plant launches.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT security, infrastructure, and production engineering.
- Document network architecture, policies, and change control processes.
Qualifications and skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications (Preferred) - Cisco (CCNP/CCIE), CompTIA Network+ or Security+ , ITIL Foundation, or related OT cybersecurity knowledge
- 5+ years of experience in a network management role, preferably in the IT/Technology industry.
- Experience in automotive or industrial/manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, QoS, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) is a strong plus.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to balance IT and OT network requirements.
- Experience managing complex, multi-site network environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
