Purpose Of The Job
  • Monitor and enforce workplace safety compliance according to Malaysian regulations (DOSH, DOE, USECHH, etc.).
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
  • Organize safety induction, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills for workers. Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and safe work instructions.
  • Investigate incidents/accidents and prepare reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper usage, availability, and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Liaise with authorities, contractors, and project teams on safety matters.
  • Monitor subcontractors to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and compliance reports for audits.
  • Drive Safety Culture, Kaizen and Safety Dojo programs aligned with corporate direction.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety laws, standards, and ISO 45001 requirements is needed.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations is needed.
  • Candidate must have good communication, leadership, training, and reporting skills.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to coordinate safety activities across multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, handle emergencies, and make quick decisions

Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate safety records, including incident logs, inspection reports, and safety meeting minutes. Provide regular reports to management on safety performance.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure that PPE is correctly provided, maintained, and used by all employees in accordance with safety standards.

Promote Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization, encouraging employees to raise safety concerns and continuously improve safety practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Minimum of a relevant certificate/diploma.

Certification:

Yellow Book or SSS (Site Safety Supervisor) certification from DOSH is required.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in safety management or supervision.

Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment is preferred.

Experience working in integrated facility management services is advantageous.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, especially those enforced by DOSH and OSHA.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to conduct risk assessments, implement safety improvements, and handle incident investigations.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple safety projects.

Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform site inspections in various working environments, including those requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Safety Officer to join our growing team at LPH CATERING'. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety and hygiene. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for delivering safe, high-quality food products to our customers. What you'll be doing Conducting regular inspections and audits of our food production facilities to monitor compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards Identifying and addressing any potential hygiene or safety issues, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks Providing training and guidance to production staff on food handling, cleaning procedures, and best practices in food hygiene Maintaining detailed records and documentation to demonstrate our compliance with all food safety requirements Liaising with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure our operations meet or exceed all necessary standards Contributing to the continuous improvement of our food safety management systems and processes What we're looking for Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar food hygiene or quality assurance role, preferably within the catering or food manufacturing industry Strong working knowledge of food safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve potential food safety issues Proficient in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments Effective communication and training skills to engage with production staff at all levels Relevant diploma or qualification in food technology, food science, or a related discipline What we offer
