We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile App Development Engineering Lead to oversee and guide our mobile development team in creating exceptional Android, iOS and React Native applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mobile development processes, tools, and release cycles, as well as a proven track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality mobile applications. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Android, iOS, React Native developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Act as a technical leader and provide guidance on best practices, code reviews, and design decisions. Define team goals and ensure alignment with overall company objectives. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. Oversee the end-to-end mobile app development process, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment for both Android and iOS platforms as well as React Native integration. Ensure seamless integration with back-end services, APIs, and third-party tools. Work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces. Stay up to date with the latest trends, frameworks, and tools in Android, iOS and React Native development. Project Planning & Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to define project requirements and timelines. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget. Manage app release cycles, including beta testing, app store submissions, and updates. Quality Assurance & Maintenance: Establish and maintain a robust unit testing process, ensuring the delivery of reliable and bug-free applications. Monitor app performance post-release, address user feedback, and ensure timely updates and enhancements. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in mobile app development, with expertise in Android, iOS and React Native platforms. 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role within a software development team. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Android (Kotlin), iOS (Swift) and React Native development. Experience with mobile app architectures such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture. Familiarity with tools like Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle, Fastlane, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with version control systems such as Git. Knowledge of app distribution, versioning strategies, A/B testing, and OTA updates (e.g., CodePush). Delivery & Reporting

• Responsible for clearly understanding the project objectives and ensuring that these are the foundations for delivery.

Responsible for application development and deliver on the Mobile applications assigned through agile resource management and digital platform technology implementation to support business objectives. Expected to function effectively in a high performance team for application delivery and champion Mobile application technology innovations.

JOB SCOPE:

(role purpose)

Delivery & Reporting

Responsible for clearly understanding the project objectives and ensuring that these are the foundations for delivery. Leading the effective end to end delivery of the projects to agreed time, budget, scope and quality. Managing, coordinating and reporting on performance of the projects to create clear visibility and transparency of delivery. Ensuring the appropriate governance of the projects to ensure the right results are delivered through the agreed mechanisms and thresholds (including alignment to regional standards). Handling and responsible for project documentation and invoices where necessary.

Single Point of Contact

Single point of contact for your assigned projects working closely with all the all Project Managers, Transformation Business Partners and relevant business partners (e.g. Distribution, Operations / CE and Strategic Functions) as appropriate to take ownership for the end to end delivery.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

one. Design / Document / Implement / Test / Deploy systems & solutions to meet the business needs two. Analyze business requirements to perform feasibility studies / gap analysis / functional / technical design for existing and new systems

3. Examine existing systems design and processes to improve effectiveness & efficiency

4. Research and recommend technologies and solution design to fulfil business requirement

5. Work closely with Project Manager, Business Analyst and Technical Delivery teams to ensure quality of deliveries

6. Lead and guide the development team on system development / implementation lifecycle

Perform and coordinate SIT and UAT activities Responsible for production deployment and relevant change management processes Work closely with other organizational units and external parties in systems implementation Ensure complete knowledge transfer from external solution providers to provide effective support on systems after go-live

1one. Responsible for end-to-end design for existing and new systems

1two. Responsible for functional / technical / administration / operation documentations of supported systems

13. Active involvement in production support to ensure systems availability and stability

JOB SPECIFICATION

one. At least 7 years of experience in Java EE enterprise application development

two. Understanding of insurance business domain and relevant systems (an added advantage)

3. Understanding of mobile application iOS and Android (an added advantage)

4. Strong knowledge in multiple technologies (Web/App Server, RDBMS, SQL, Integration, etc.)

5. Excellent interpersonal skills and highly proficient in oral & written communication (English)

6. Highly proactive and self-motivated individual with proven leadership exposure
